she's sick

"I feel horrible." Kendall murmured as she clutched her stomach and attempted to catch her breath after vomiting so much.

You sat behind her, pulling her hair into a messy bun to bring it away from her face. You et your hands on her shoulders, feeling the warm skin against your fingers. You heard her whimper and felt her muscles tense up before she was vomiting once again.

"I know. It's alright, Kenny. Just let it out. I'm here, I promise." You whispered against her shoulder, giving it a soft little kiss. Your heart broke with every whimper falling from her lips. Her fingers shook as she reached up to flush the toilet once more before her head fell against her forearm as sweat poured down her skin.

"I think I'm finally done." She mumbled.

You kissed her head as she slumped back against you. She was drained of all her energy. She was pale and tired and even though she didn't feel sick any longer, her stomach still felt achy and she felt so uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry I woke you up."

"Don't be, darling. It's not your fault. I just want you to feel better." You said softly and gave her a sad smile. "Do you wanna go back to bed?"

She nodded weakly.

"Okay. Then you need to stay here for a minute. I'll be right back but I wanna get you a couple of things first, alright?"

"No," she dragged the word out with a whine. Her fingers wrapped around your wrist. She didn't want you to leave her side, not even for a second.

"Just one minute. Then we can get you back to bed and you can sleep."

"And you'll cuddle me?"

You chuckled and caressed her warm cheek. "Absolutely." You promised and laid a kiss to her cheek before getting up and rushing downstairs. You listened for any sounds coming from upstairs as you grabbed her some water and a sheet from the closet, knowing that it would be best for her to cover up in.

You made your way back into the bedroom and heard her spit. Your heart sank and you raced back into the bathroom, only to feel relief flood over you to find that she was just brushing her teeth, trying to get rid of the sick taste in her mouth.

You leaned against the door until she finished. She put her toothbrush back into the holder and turned around to face you. With a pot on her lips, she slowly walked to you and into your arms; the place she felt safest.

You wrapped them around her but kept your grip loose. You didn't wanna cause her any more discomfort.

"I know you feel awful, baby girl. I'm sorry. But you'll be oka. I'll be right by your side until whatever you've got passes."

She nodded and pulled away. With your help, she made it back to bed. She reached for the glass of water, taking a few sips while you tucked her in under the sheet.

"There you go, my love. You shouldn't get too hot or too cold now."

A few strands of hair fell from her messy bun and you smoothed them back. You watched her head fall to the pillows and you kissed her cheek, only for her eyes to fly open again. Your eyes went wide. "Feel sick again?"

She shook her head. "No, I just feel sleepy but you promised you'd cuddle me and I don't wanna go to sleep without you holding me!" She pouted. You noticed the color returning to her face.

"Well, how can I say no to that adorable face?" You chuckled and laid beside her. When you were comfy in bed, she was rolling into your arms and snuggling up against you. You combed your fingers through her hair, knowing it brought her a lot of comfort. "Do you feel any better?"

She shrugged. "A little. I don't feel very nauseous anymore but my stomach is still sore."

You nodded in response. "I love you. I hope you feel better soon. I'll be here to take care of you until you feel all better okay? So if you need anything, don't hesitate to let me know."

Kendall pressed a lazy kiss to your collarbone. You could feel her eyelashes flutter against your skin. "I love you. Thank you for always taking such great care of me." She mumbled as she quickly drifted off to sleep, so exhausted from being so sick.

"Always. Sweet dreams, baby girl."

As you played with her hair and hummed softly in her ear, she quickly fell asleep with the hope that she'd wake up in a few hours, feeling much better than she did now.
