You could hear Kendall's joyous laugh when you first dragged your feet through the door.

Usually, the sound would make your heart flutter, and a big smile would appear on your face. But today wasn't as great of a day as you'd hoped it would be and you found the frown on your face has yet to falter.

Kendall turned her head at the sound of the door closing. Her once bright eyes turned sad upon seeing you so down.

"Come here, baby." She said, patting her lap and opening her arms for you.

You kicked off your shoes and walked over to sit on her lap. You felt comforted right away. Between the warmth of her embrace and her steady heartbeat against your chest. You let your cheek fall to her shoulder and even cracked a small smile when she kissed your temple.

"You okay?"

You nodded wordlessly.

"Have a rough day? Is there anything I can do to make it better?"

"You're doing enough." You whispered reassuringly, needing nothing more than her arms around you.

"What about if I turn your favorite movie on? Sound good?"

She was turning it on before you could even say a word. You craned your neck to see it, still clinging onto her tightly.

However, she soon gently pushed at your hip and had you move off her lap.

"Kenny," you whined, pouting sadly. "I need you."

"I'm here, baby." She whispered softly. "I just have an idea."

She stretched her legs out on the sofa before patting her lap and saying, "Lay your head here."

You let out a sigh and fell down beside her. You stretched your legs out too, tangling them with hers. She grabbed the blanket from the back of the sofa and threw it over you, making sure that it was up to your shoulders before she smiled down at you and started to play with your hair.

"That better?"

You nodded, starting to smile a little more now that you were beginning to feel better. As she laid kisses on your forehead and the crown of your head, you found yourself letting out soft sighs and looking forward to the ones that would follow.

You felt relaxed as she played with your hair. Between letting her nails scratch the top of your head ever so lightly to twirling strands around the tips of her fingers to combing her fingers through it gently, your worries faded away completely.

"I love you. I don't know what I'd ever do without you. You make everything feel okay."

She smiled to herself, laying a kiss to the crown of your head once more. But this time her lips lingered and her eyes closed and she breathed in the smell of your shampoo that lingered; feeling relaxed as you laid on her lap.

"I'll always be here for you, my love. I promise to always make your bad days good again."

"You do, and you make all my good days even better." You smiled up at her, but she could tell your eyes were starting to grow heavy.

"You do the same for me, baby girl. Now, try to sleep."

"But the movie."

She giggled, heart leaping in her chest when she saw your adorable little pout.

"I can turn it on again for you when you wake up. I promise."

"You don't get tired of it?" You wondered, words more mumbled now that your eyes were starting to close.

"Not when I know you love it so much." She spoke softly. "I love you lots. Try to sleep. I'll hold you close the whole time."

"Love you too, Kenny." You whispered back, much happier and much more content now than before; and it was all because of her.
