if I'm being honest with you, I tried a lot to befriend someone but that always failed because they see me as danger and a good for nothing scary girl.
but this weirdo wasn't just scared of me but understands me as well. that's why I got a soft spot for her immediately. and the fact that she asked if were friends, made me smile inside.
it's only been the second day, and I feel good about school now. because I have a friend now. a friend? is she really a friend? I think I can trust her. but as far as I know, friendship tends to break easily. so I won't let my guard down.
after that incident with that Oliver guy, I sent him the video.
I sent it, thank me later and I deleted it on my phone.
I heard a notification and he replied, that was quick.
Thanks, for the help and tell that weak nerd that I appreciate her kindness.
I let out a snort and Ashley looks at me weirdly.
"Why are you snorting?" she asks as we walk to the cafeteria. "ah? it's nothing haha." I put my phone back inside my pocket and we sat in a table at a corner and we ordered some food.
"so, I've been meaning to ask," I started and she looks at me again while we were waiting for the food. "what do you mean by you understand me?" she looks down and sighed heavily.
"my father died 2 years ago, but before he died I wasn't like this. I was always energetic and sociable. we had a car accident 2 years ago, but we were alright. but the person inside the car that we crashed into, shot my father in the head right in front of me." shit, that's harsh. no wonder she's so timid.
"my old friends left me because of my sudden change of personality and a lot of my classmates bully me and my family." I lean on the table as a gesture that I'm listening to her. then she gasped.
"that was so out of the question, I'm sorry." oh yeah that really was out of the question. "it's fine, I'm glad you had the courage to share something like this to me." she smiled and drops her head again.
"I understand you because you must have a reason for being like this. the reason for my sudden change of personality was because of the death of my father. I felt like you're not really like this and that you must have a reason for your behavior." she explained to me and I was actually impressed at how observant she is.
"that's right, I had a reason for being like this." it wouldn't hurt me if I tell her right?
after telling my story she bursts into tears as she eats her food.
"you've been through a lot, I'm so sorry..." she said and chews her food while sniffing. I laughed really loud and pat her head lightly.
"you shouldn't be, it's all in the past. I'm strong now. and you should be too." I said and she looks up confused.
"you can't be like this forever Ash, even I can't be like this but you're so introverted I doubt you'll have a boyfriend soon." was I too harsh? because she looks really sad now.
"I know, I'm trying my best to change and be happy but I don't know why I can't do it. I need more time and answers." she must've been through a lot as well.
it's funny because I always thought that I've been through a lot that no one can relate. but this weirdo has been through so much than me.
I don't want to keep he sad atmosphere so I changed the topic.
"so after school let's go to the registrar's office and get a dorm, sounds good?" I saw her smile widening as she hears that.
"really? yes, that sounds amazing!" look at her, being energetic. she really is weird.
we finished our food and head back to class. as we were walking on the hallways we stumble upon Oliver guy again.
"Hello, how're your bruises?" Ashley asked but Oliver just walked past her. what the f*ck? that's rude.
"I guess he doesn't consider me as a friend huh?" she whispers to herself but I can still hear it. I'm already pissed. I put my arms around her and we continued walking.
"don't mind him, I'll teach him a lesson if he does that again," I said and she chuckles and nods at me.
the class was finally over and we head straight to the registrar's office.
"excuse me," I said to the lady and she gave me a smile. "dorms?" she asked and I nodded.
"Hmm, let's see," she said as she goes through the papers and folders.
"Okay, so pick a dorm room and I'll do the rest." the lady said and we looked at the available rooms.
"I want it to be high," Ashley suggested and I nodded. she gets to choose which dorm room she wants for her comfort.
"then how about this one?" I asked Ashley as I point my finger at the very top left corner of the dorm rooms. she happily nods and I smiled.
"is this one available?" I asked the lady and she nodded. "oh that room? if you two are planning to move there then that's good. you'll be living with the school's pride." school's pride?
"what do you mean?" the lady looks at me, confused and stood up. "you don't know Isabelle Riley? the Ace girl and the most popular girl? you're going to live with her if you choose that dorm room. and it's perfect because that room is for 3 persons only. almost no students wanted that since their in pretty big groups." the lady explained and I just nodded.
Isabelle Riley? where have I heard that name? I swear it's familiar in my ears but I can't seem to know.
we left the registrar's office and went back home. Ashley's home was quite far away from mine so it was good to get a dorm. not that my family wanted me to have a dorm but it's my choice.
"I'm home," I said and of course, no response.
got back to my room and changed to my comfortable dark-colored clothes. I texted Oliver again and sent him a death threat.
If you ignore Ashley again, I will beat you up.
my phone rings and it was Oliver, why would he call me? I picked up the phone and scoffed.
"Why are you calling me?" I asked and he chuckles.
"I called you because it's none of your business if I ignore that girl or not. she's not even my friend. why would I not ignore a stranger?" he explained and I can feel my anger boiling.
"she helped you okay? be grateful that you didn't get beat up to a pulp. you selfish good for nothing bastard!" I ended the call and threw my phone on the bed.
he makes me want to rage and throw a fit. I hate him.
