Damian couldn't even leave the tower without the assassins following him. He discovered that one night when a group of them jumped him.

After fighting them off, Damian had locked himself in his safe house. Sliding down the door, Damian sat on the concrete floor and ran his fingers through his sweaty locks of hair. His heart was pounding so hard that he couldn't focus on anything.

Once his breathing caught up, he stood up and sat at the computer desk. He inserted the flash drive and pulled the document up that he needed; The League of Assassins target list.

His eyes immediately widened at the screen.

Raven was no longer at the top of the list. He was.

He instantly pulled his phone out of his pocket and called his mother.

"Yes, Damian?" Talia answered on the third ring.

"Call them off," Damian ordered, "I-"

"My son," Talia spoke, "Your grandfather sent them after you. If you complete your mission they'll stop."

"They're trying to kill me!" Damian objected. "How am I supposed to complete my mission with assassins hunting me down?"

"I don't know, habibi. I'm sorry. I'm still waiting for you to return home," Talia said, sadness evident in her tone.

"Just... call them off, please. I'll do it now." Damian decided to offer. He dreaded the words as soon as they left his mouth.

Talia was quiet for a moment before she spoke again. "I will speak of this to your grandfather," she said. "I wish you the best of luck."

Damian didn't respond before ending the call.

He got up and gave himself a hard look in the mirror. Blood was dripping down his face, along with red spots on his cheeks. Those would certainly turn into bruises by tomorrow.

Letting out a sigh, he headed to the bathroom and started to clean up his wounds to where he looked at least the slightest bit presentable. Once he was finished, he went back into the office and eyed the weapons laid out on his desk. If he was going to take her out he wanted it to be the most least painful way. In all honesty, he didn't want to do it at all. And he hated that.

Anyone else he killed didn't matter to him. They were terrible people who didn't deserve his pity. But Raven, she was different. She didn't murder or steal. She was innocent. If anything, her heart was pure. All she had was good intentions for others. That was something Damian noticed immediately. Her cold personality was easy to
get past when you truly get to know her. It was quite a beautiful thing, really.

Damian couldn't even understand why she was a target on the list. His mother wouldn't explain to him in full detail why she had to be exterminated, she just told him she was a threat to all mankind. How, he didn't know. It must have something to do with her demonic heritage.

Nonetheless, Damian's nerves were shot. He could feel his palms sweat and shake as he even grazed his fingertips on one of his katanas.

He didn't even have a real plan at this point. Usually he would scope out the area and target, but he hasn't even thought about how he would take her down. He was too distracted.

Suffocating her would be too risky, as would shooting her. As much as he hated the thought, his best option would probably be a blade. Usually he enjoyed using his blades to kill his targets, but when he pictured Raven's blood on his hands, it made him sick.

Once he was ready he stepped back outside and made his way back to the tower, this time in peace. He had hid a dagger underneath his jacket.

He used his key to get back inside, surpassing their security system.
