"You can't run away from your destiny much longer. You are still daddy's little girl, after all."
The words echoed in Raven's mind as she meditated. Ever since Deathstroke sent her a message a week ago, she's been constantly meditating and studying her books. All she wanted to do right now was to figure out a way to stop all of this. Her birthday was now only a day away from now. She was running out of time.
When she couldn't take it much longer, she ran to the bathroom and turned on the lights. She gasped when she saw four glowing red eyes on her face. "No..." she whispered to herself, reaching her hands up to cover her eyes. "No no no..."
A minute later, she uncovered her face and looked back into her own violet eyes. A sigh of relief escaped from her lips. Maybe it was just a daydream.
As she went to turn the bathroom light out, she heard knocking at her door. She was afraid to use her powers so she slowly approached the door to crack it open. "What do you want?"
She opened it wide enough to see half of Garfield's face. "We're, uh, going to a party downtown, and we want you to come," he spoke in a quiet voice.
Raven raised an eyebrow. "First of all, why would I want to go to a party, and second of all, it's late."
"Oh come on Rae," Garfield begged, "It's going to be fun, I promise."
"No thanks," Raven said and went to close the door but Garfield managed to stick his foot in the gap before she could.
"Damian's going," he decided to mention. He rubbed the back of his neck with one of his hands.
This caused her to narrow her eyes at him. "So what?" she replied.
"You know what I'm getting at," he teased, "He'll be all alone if you don't come."
Raven thought over it for a minute before finally answering. "Fine," she sighed, "I'll be ready in five minutes."
"Awesome!" Garfield whisper-yelled and gave her a big goofy grin.
Raven just rolled her eyes and shut the door. Once she was alone she began to search her closet for an appealing outfit.
When she finally found something appealing, she stripped from her towel and put on the outfit. She gave herself a good look in the mirror once more before deciding to put on the slightest bit of lip gloss.
Raven walked out of her room at the same time as Damian did. Garfield was standing in between their doors. "Perfect timing, let's go," Garfield whispered as he started leading the way, "Be quiet so we don't wake up Dick or Kory."
—
"Where is this place even at?" Raven asked as they walked along the sidewalk of Jump City. It was around midnight so not many people were out.
"Here," Garfield informed her and came to a stop. The others did as well and looked to where he was gesturing. An old-looking building.
"It already looks lame," Jaime admitted and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Hey, Rose wouldn't invite us to a lame party," Garfield defended before he opened the door for everyone.
Inside there was flashing neon strobe lights and really loud upbeat music playing. There were a couple of girls dancing on tables, clearly intoxicated.
A group of girls came over and swooped Garfield away. Jaime let out a sigh and gave a wave to Damian and Raven before following behind the group.
"What is the point in this?" Damian asked, glancing over at Raven who met his gaze.
