My vision hazed as I drifted out of the void. A moment later, I found myself in the warm embrace of the sheets on the bed in the guest room of Undyne and Alphys's house. The faint light of dawn peeked in through the windows. There was a warm place next to me on the bed Where Papyrus Had slept, meaning he hadn't gotten up to long ago. This is way earlier than I get up.
I Thought about going back to sleep. Then, I smelled something sweet coming from the other room. Soap. The door opened, and Papyrus walked in, A towel around his pelvis. He glanced in my direction.
I propped myself up on my elbows. "Morn'n bro." I grunted. "SANS! I WASN'T EXPECTING YOU UP THIS EARLY! YOU WERE NOT PLAGUED WITH NIGHTMARES I HOPE?" I winced at Papyrus's volume. "Na, I slept okay. But I'll be the only one if you don't keep it down." Papyrus nodded, then added, "Alright, Now Get Your Lazy Butt Out Of Bed, Or You Will Not Get Any Breakfast." "Can't. I don't gotta butt." I chuckled. Papyrus groaned. I pealed off the sheets, and headed to the bathroom for a shower.
"Who are you?" a soft voice asked behind me. I turned my head. A young girl stood there. She looked like Undyne, mostly. Her hair was a maple orange, and scales a soft gray. She had bright violet eyes, with round pupils. She wore a pair of purple sweat pants that displayed various colorful ponies from some human show, and a baby blue T-shirt. She glared at me with a piercing gaze.
"You're Aspen, right?" I asked. She nodded hesitantly. I took a sip from my orange juice. I sat perched on a bar stool, while Papyrus worked on breakfast. Scrambled eggs I think? "Ya look like your mom." I remarked, offering a lopsided grin. Aspen scowled. "I asked first." "Sans. Sans the skeleton. And this is my brother, Papyrus." I said, gesturing to Papyrus. He waved from the kitchen.
"What're you here for?" She asked. "Jus' visiting. We were stay'n at a hotel. But yesterday, Undyne Jus' outta the blue asked us if we wan'ed to stay here. Someth'n 'bout how it would be cheaper?" Aspen grunted, and walked into the kitchen to grab herself some orange juice. "Good morning Sans, Papyrus." Alphys walked into the room. Her composer caught me off guard.
She was usually nervous, and fidgety, exhaustion showing plainly in her features, only kept going with caffeine, and anime. The painful results of her job as the royal scientist. Or at least, four-teen years ago. Alphys was a small lizard, with golden scales. She Wore A Dark Purple T-shirt, and A pair of Black yoga pants. She Looked Tired, but that of just waking up, not stayed up all night.
"HELLO ALPHYS." Papyrus greeted. "How was your trip out here?" Alphys asked him. They continued to talk. What'd I dreamed about last night? It was important. I think. EMILY. "Hey Alph, Where's Undyne?" I asked. "She's at work." "Kay. Thanks." I muttered. Alphys nodded. No worries, Emily 'll be easy to find. Jus' like find'n a needle in a haystack.
