CHOOSH!
Water poured from the faucet as I rinsed the soap out of my hair. We found a convince store Jamie had pointed out The night before on our trek into the world. I bought a bar of soap, and went to clean up as best I could, While the boys used the restroom.
Jamie had claimed that they didn't need to wash up just yet, and Jacob told me I was acting like his mom. After I was finished in the bath room, I took a handful of paper towels from the roll next to the counter, and soaked as much water out of my hair as possible. I then ran my fingers through my hair to straighten it, and pulled my hood over my head.
I stepped out of the restroom to find Jamie, and Jacob waiting for me. "Took ya long enough." Jamie remarked. "Sorry, but not that sorry." I giggled. We walked around for a few moments looking for something to eat. Jacob insisted that he wasn't hungry, emphasis on Insisted. We picked up some food, and went to the check out. We then got in line behind a young man in a dark purple jacket.
"I'm sorry sir, but we don't carry that here." The desk person was saying. "Are you sure? I could've sworn someone I knew bought it here." The man in the purple jacket said. "It must have been a mistake then. If we did carry magic food, We don't now." The desk person replied. Magic food. Was that something my mother used to get? Why is it called magic food Though? It was... I feel like I should know... "Okay. Thank you for you time." The man in purple grunted, before walking out.
We stepped up to the counter. Jamie set our things on the counter. "Will this be all today?" the desk person asked. "Yes." Jamie said. "that will be...." They continued. But at that moment, the man in purple, and I, made eye contact. His eyes shimmered a light blue, and had black slits in the center like a cat. They glow. Why wasn't he trying to hide it? Who was he?
Something tapped my arm, and made me jump. "Hey, earth to Emily?" It was Jamie. "It's time to go." I nodded, and we walked out. The man in purple opened the door for us. Jamie thanked him. "It's rude to stare, kid." He whispered as we passed. That's when I recognized him. The stranger from the ally. For some reason, I felt dizzy. "Sorry." I whispered back. He grunted.
As we were passing him, I felt some sort of tingling sensation. After we got a few inches away, The tingling stopped. When we were across the street from him, The dizziness and nausea stopped.
"Did you feel that?" Jacob asked.
"What?" Jamie responded.
"The tingling."
"No."
"Yes." I stated. "And I felt dizzy."
Jacob hummed thoughtfully. "We passed a monster."
A/N *Inhales deeply* It is done. Sorry for the wait. *Exhales*
