(This chapter gives you a bit of info and an insight into Allie😉 Hope yall like it❤)

I was lost till you I found
Gave up my heart to keep you
And though we are not blood bound
Please trust that my word is true

I doubted that I could love
It was never in my genes
But you, angel from above
Somehow taught me what it means.

-Aloysius-

I hear a blood curdling scream from the hall. Rushing over, I see Lilliana balled up on the ground, face twisted in pain. She resists as I try to lift her, but gives in quickly. Poor thing, I had hoped it wouldn’t happen so soon.

I carry her to her room as I call out for Marleen. At this point Lilly is already out cold, but still in visible pain. I attempt to block out the ringing in my ears from her screams and use my abilities to help her. Marleen arrives just as I’m drained. She takes over the situation, evaluating Lilliana for what might be the source of her pain and cleaning up the blood from her nose and ears.

My suspicions are now confirmed. I had hoped that I was wrong, but I should’ve known better than to deny the possibility of the worst case scenario. I didn’t want to worry them over a hypothesis. I suppose that I should’ve told them earlier.

Lilly seems to be better. She’s no longer in pain so I leave Marleen to watch over her while I bring a few books down from the attic.

My back isn’t as young as it once was. The stack is nearly backbreaking. 476 years of guardianship isn’t that much, is it?

I stay by Lilliana’s bedside, reading. I was just about to prepare for my night on the floor when I heard a rustling.

“Allie?”

“The one and only. How are you feeling dear?”

“Heavy. I just had the worst headache of my life.”

“My energy must be wearing off. Would you like me to relieve some of the pain?”

“Please,” she whimpers.

I use the energy that I’ve regained to give her some relief.

Now the real question arises. Do I tell her the full truth or do I wait and only give her the portion she needs to know?

“Allie?”

My train of thought crashes.

“Yes Lilly?”

“What happened?”

I take a deep breath. I have to do what’s best for her.

“The ceremony was just completed.”

She gives me a confused look.

“Lilly….You are connected to Evelyn and her energy. It is the reason why she had more control over her energy even though she hadn’t accepted it till recently and it’s also the reason your powers were hidden for so long. You two essentially balance each other.

This physical separation weakens your connection and stability and since it’s Evelyn’s birthday today, her powers have been strengthened which threw the balance off even more. I’m assuming Cerin knew this and decided to perform theceremony today.”

“What ceremony?”

“Lilly, I don’t know how to tell you, but….Evelyn may not be the same as you saw her last.”

-Evelyn-

Once I regain consciousness, my eyes are immediately met with intense rays of light. My head feels like it’s being weighed down with a ton of bricks and that each bone in my body has been coated with a thick layer of lead. Against all better judgement, I attempt to sit up only to fall back down halfway.
