Reflections Found

(There's just one more chapter to go! Ahh, I didn't think I'd make it this far! Thank you so much for reading and supporting me! It means so much!

I'm going to try to finish it tomorrow because it'll be the two month mark since I started writing this story. I can't believe it's been 2 months already! Quarantine really does make you lose track of time.
Alright, enough of my spiel. Hope you enjoy!)

Scripture lost to time
Secrets so sublime
Hidden in plain sight
Bringing truth to light

Hide away the words
Cage them up like birds
Can’t let them be found
Their words never sound

But all birds must fly
High up to the sky
Til a home they find
Within someone’s mind

-Lilliana-

My whole body aches when I wake from my dream with Evelyn. It’s been getting worse for the past few weeks. I stretch for a bit before going down for breakfast.

I run down to see Marcus cooking breakfast with Jordan embracing him from behind. I’m really glad that they made up.

Sophia is already sitting at the table reading. I can’t tell if she’s devouring the food or the book more.

I sit beside her and peek over her shoulder to see what she’s reading.

Lux Mythology

Figures. She’s been obsessing over history, fairy tales, mythology. I’m honestly surprised that she’s not destined to be a guardian. She’s way more qualified.

Marcus places a plate of pancakes in front of me and I dig in immediately. I’m on the last one when Allie walks down exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes are prominent. I should probably just tell him about Evey later.

“Another long night, Aloysius?” Jordan inquires.

Allie nods as he makes a cup of coffee, his eyes still closed.

“Kiran has been helping, but we haven’t made a dent in the spell. I feel so drained from the past few weeks.”

“I can tell. You’re stirring your coffee with a fork,” I snicker.

He opens his eyes wider and sighs, “I guess I am.”

After breakfast, Allie goes to rest while everyone else trains. Marleen and Sophia offered to help me practice my spells.

…………

We come back inside hours later, completely exhausted from training. I go up to check on Allie. Hopefully he’s a bit rested.

I gently knock on the door.

No reply.

I peer into his room to see it pristine and empty with no sign of Aloysius.

I rush up to the attic to see Allie hypnotized by literature.

His normally neat hair is ruffled into rapids.

“Allie, I have to tell you something.”

“Hmm? Oh, Lilly! Yes, of course, what do you need, darling?”

“I had a dream about Evey, well….I guess it wasn’t exactly a dream. I was actually speaking to her.”

“You spoke with Evelyn?”

“Mhm. She said that Nukpana is planning an attack and that he’s been trying to get to Vita, but he’s been as successful as us.”

“This isn’t good. We have to make sure he gets through this mirror. If he can’t then we won’t be able to predict his location in time to stop him.” He looks even more stressed than before.
