Mordred x Reader

A/N: Lancelot is alive in this one.

3rd Person POV:

Y/N trekked out of the castle and into the Darkling Woods. She twisted the ornate wooden ring she'd been given anxiously.

Y/N was unaware of the manservant who followed her. Y/N was unaware of the drunken knight who travelled with the servant. Y/N was unaware of the sensible knight who travelled with the other two to keep them out of trouble.

Once she reached her destination she sat on the stump of a tree. It was blatantly obvious to the three spies that she had come here many times before.

After a few minutes of watching they heard rustling come from the other side of the clearing. Y/N stood quickly, pulling a small dagger from a sheath on her belt.

"My love?" Y/N called wearily

A short figure entered the clearing and Y/N put away the dagger. Y/N quickly tackled them in a hug.

"I'm sorry, my dear, that I have been unable to visit you as of late." The figure said in a smooth voice

"Don't apologize, we get to see each other now." Y/N smiled

The figure nodded, "But only just, I must hurry back. The others will become concerned if they find I am missing."

"Of course, love." Y/N sighed, "Be careful."

The figure leaned forward and kissed Y/N's cheek before turning to leave. Y/N put up her hood before leaving back the way she'd come.

Merlin, Gwaine, and Leon quickly and quietly made their way to the road. Wandering down it as if they were on patrol.

After a few minutes they ran into Y/N.

"Oh, Miss Y/N!" Gwaine said feigning surprise, "What brings you out this late?"

Y/N thought quickly of a lie, "I was sent on an errand for Lady Morgana to pick fresh wildflowers to brighten up her room. I got a bit lost and just now found my way back to the path."

"Right, of course." Leon smiled, "Let us escort you back to the castle."

Y/N sighed heavily, "If you insist."

Once arrived back at the castle Y/N hurried off to her chambers. The three men debated on what to do.

"She's obviously with someone who she can't talk about." Merlin whispered

"Yes, but if we tell Arthur he'll find this man and try to figure out why she was hiding him." Leon replied

"We can't tell Arthur." Gwaine reasoned, "Not yet, let's talk to Lancelot, Percy, and Elyan. Maybe they could know what to do."

~Time Skip~

It had been almost a year since the odd meeting the three had witnessed. They had told the other knights who had no idea what to do. They still didn't know who this mystery man was, and how he had gotten Y/N so smitten.

That is, until Arthur and Merlin brought back a boy who'd saved their lives. Arthur called upon Y/N to look after the boy as a maidservant.

"King Arthur, you asked to see me?" Y/N said quickly as she entered the throne room where the King resided

"Yes, Y/N. We have gained a new knight. Seeing as you are a very trustworthy and noble woman, I would like you to look after him." Arthur informed, "And any of the other knights should they need it."
