Prince Arthur x Reader

3rd Person POV:

Y/N smiled as she tended to the roses in the garden. She always kept them particularly healthy, seeing as they were Arthur's favorite.

Prince Arthur, the crown prince of Camelot. Y/N's beloved, the man who she could never truly be with. Y/N was a simple servant, and Arthur was the crown prince.

As Y/N watered the roses she heard someone approach behind her. She turned around and saw it was her cousin, Merlin. She'd traveled to Camelot with him to try to keep him safe. But, she'd fallen ill when they arrived and wasn't able to do so for almost a week.

Merlin never elaborated on what occurred during the week. But, Y/N was honestly afraid to know.

"Y/N! Can I give you a tour of the castle?" Merlin asked

Y/N quirked an eyebrow, "Merlin, I've already seen it. What are you up to?"

Merlin smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck, "I want you to meet my boss-"

Y/N chuckled, "Why on Earth would you want me to meet your boss?"

Merlin smiled, "Because he wants to meet you? Apparently I talk about you a lot and he wants to meet you."

Y/N set down the can she was watering the plants with and wiped her hands on her apron.

"Alright then, let's go." She said to her cousin

Merlin led the way, though it seemed he was going a way that Y/N was familiar with. He went to the door that Y/N knew to be Arthur's.

Merlin opened the door and waited for Y/N to enter first. Once she did he followed her in and shut the door behind them. Arthur was sat at his table.

Y/N smiled, "Hello, Arthur-"

Arthur returned the smile, "Hello, Y/N-"

Y/N turned to Merlin, who had a confused look on his face.

"Who's your boss, Merls?" Y/N asked

Arthur chuckled, "That would be me, my dear."

Y/N laughed and pressed a kiss to Arthur's cheek.

"Wait, what the fuck-" Was all Merlin could manage
