By the way it swiches points of views. It starts in Maya's first then swiches to Joeys.

“Hey Maya I have a favor to ask you. Can you come over, and help me pack. I got kicked out. Can you get Layla and Zane to help too? Also can you forget about me after I move? I’m not good for you. I am causing you pain you shouldn’t feel. I’m sorry Maya, but it’s my fault that you are always wearing a fake smile. When you opened up to me I realized I wasn’t making your life better, but that I was making it worse. You need someone that can be there for you and won’t get in trouble. Are you there?” Joey asked.
I was breaking inside. I felt my heart split in two. He was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I really think he realized I was no good, and came up with that. I scared him away. I felt tears fall from my face. I quickly wiped them, and answered him. “I’ll be right over, and I’ll have Layla call Zane. I’ll see you soon.” I said and I hung up the phone before he could say anything else.
“Layla call Zane, Joey got kicked out of his house and he needs help packing. You can go get Zane and I will drive straight there.” I said I tried to keep it simple.
“Hun I’m so sorry. Everything will work out. After all you guys have each other.” She said trying to make me feel better, but instead I felt worse. We didn’t have each other, he left me. I held in the tears, and it was one of the hardest things to do.
“I’ll go ask my mom if I can go.” I said. I went down the hall and stopped at her room. I knocked on the door, and waited for a reply.
“Come in!” I heard her yell from the other side of the door. I opened the door and walked inside. She was on her bed. Her short brown hair was a mess, and she had her laptop on her lap, and she was typing away.
“Can I go over to Joey’s house? He needs help with something.” I said trying not to talk about it. She looked up and nodded. “Thanks!” I said and I closed the door behind me. I walked back to the living room. I grabbed a sandwich from the bag. I unwrapped the paper it and took a bite.
I saw that Layla already left. I grabbed the rest of the bag and walked to my car. I finished eating in the driver seat. I started the car and started to drive to his house.
Joey’s P.O.V
I got home and slowly got out of my car. I walked into the house and was attacked by my little brother, James. He was only 5 and he was the cutest kid I knew. There he was trying to push me back out the door.
“What are you doing? Do you not want me home or something?” I asked him.
“Daddy is mad at you. You gotta go or he’s gonna get you.” He said with a panicked voice. He stopped pushing and looked up at me with his blue eyes that were tearing up. We had the same eye color, but he had brown short hair.
“It’s okay bud. I’ll be fine daddy won’t hurt me. He will just yell at me.” I said as I crouch down to his level. I gave him a hug and messed up his hair.
I walked through the kitchen to go to my room in the basement. I ran into my dad on the way there. He was standing there with his arms crossed around his suit. He had a stern look on his face. His hazel eyes felt like they were going to burn into my soul.
“Where have you been?” He asked in his deep voice. He was never home typically, but when he was I was always caught for doing what I normally do. My mom would defend me, but he had the over-rule. My mom was small and shy, even toward family.
“I’m sorry dad, it’s entirely my fault. It won’t happen again.” I said trying to sound sorry. I really was trying to get out of it. I knew he didn’t care about me, and he knew nothing about me.
“This girl you were with, I don’t want to see her. She doesn’t seem like a good influence for you.” He demanded.
“Does it even matter? I was making her life worse. I love her, but that isn’t enough. You wouldn’t know anything about love. Mom doesn’t even have a say in your relationship. She’s terrified of you, and everyone else. You don’t even know anything about me or even James. Did you know James had dyslexia, or that he has no friends? I don’t think you did. After all I was the one who went to all his parent-teacher conferences and appointments. I had to pose as his uncle to keep him healthy. I’m the only one who knows anything about James, and I take care of him all the time.” I yelled at him. I knew it wasn’t helping the fact that I was in trouble but he needed to hear it.
“It’s not my job to stay home and learn every stupid detail about my kids. It’s my job to put food on the table, pay the bills, and pay for your education. I pay for James appointments, and I don’t need to know what it’s about I just need to know that he’s getting help.” He screamed back.
“So what’s my punishment this time?” I asked in a challenging voice. I knew he wouldn’t know how to punish me. Also I could get a good laugh out of this.
“If you think you know everything about life you can go. Live on your own. I will be here and wait for you to crawl back to me, and beg for mercy. Now you have to be out at the end of the week. Do you understand?” He challenged.
“Yes sir and I will never come back. I will prove to you that I only helped your pathetic life. Good luck with your job.” I said. I turned around to see James behind me. He was holding his blanket and tears were falling from his face.
“Where are you going?” He whimpered. “Are you leaving me?” His face was red and covered in tears.
“James I will be back for you, I promise. I just have to wait for dad to tell me that I can. I will come back for you. Also I have until the end of the week that’s all 7 days bud.” I said trying to comfort him.
“Do you pinky promise?” He asked as he stretched out his arm and stuck up his pinky to me. I wrapped my pinky around his.
“I promise I will come back for you as soon as I can no matter what.” I said with a reassuring smile.
