Nina was on her bed, a comforting place to sit down, with two pillows, seven stuffies and one huge blanket. Beside her is a small shelf with a lamp and a white bamboo chair. In front of her is a picture wall, hanged on LED Christmas lights. Most of the pictures are her and her family, her mom, Hazel Muom and her dad Grant Muom. They have blond hair and blue eyes. Nina usually has her hair up into a bun or a top not. Hazel has her hair down with short curls, while Grant has his hair nice and short. 30% of the pictures is her and her bestie, Teana. Her hair is never really up. It's nice and short and the colour of creamy dark chocolate. She wears a headband all the time with a necklace, I mean they both do, but not the headband. Some of the pictures are at school, while others were at the beach, play-date or in other interesting places. They like to venture the world themselves with the help of their parents when needed. Teana has a set of loving parents, Nasia Awetome and Coal Awetome. Nasia likes to have her hair in a tight ponytail, while Coal's hair looks like messy blond bangs.
"Mum?" Nina said dressing up to go outside. It was summer now, so they didn't need to pack their backpacks. "Yes, darling?" Nina's mom asked. "Where are you going?" "Your dad and I are going to New York in the United States for business, it's very important, but we can't bring you there, so we are going to leave you at the Awetomes for a week, ok? Please call us for emergencies only, otherwise you might interrupt an important meeting. Alright, we will send you texts, since we're going to miss you a bunch," Nina's mom said, giving Nina the phone she gave her for Christmas, with a pop-socket at the back. They live near the border of Canada, so New York does seem quite close, but it still takes hours to reach their destination. "Why not? I mean I would love to visit them, but why can't I come?" Nina said, expecting no answer. "Well...um....we don't want to leave you in the hotel, with no-one, that would be dangerous, right?" she replied. "I guess," Nina said, giving her a goodbye hug. Grant came running down. "Nina! Oh, sweetie, I'll miss you," and he gave her a kiss. "Bye, daddy." She gets bullied for saying daddy and many other childish words at the age of 10. Nina started packing everything she would need, including her clothes, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a pillow. Soon enough, she finished packing. Her parents left the door as they waved good-bye. "Just a week right?" Nina said, sniffing. But her parents already rushed out the door. "Just a week, Nina, it's not that long, plus, you get to stay with Teana," Nina murmured to herself. Of course she would love to visit Teana, but she would rather go to Teana's house with her parents. She left the house unlocked. Teana lives right across the street, near the left. *Ding Dong, as Nina pressed the bell. "Nina?" Teana's mum said. "Yup!" Nina replied. Nina felt the excitement rise in her heart. "Teana, show her, her room!" she shouted. "She's here?!" Teana asked excitedly. "Hey, Teana!" Nina said, with a big smile. I
