Fives x reader: Nightmare

You wake up with a gasp, your heart pounding and your nightmare still fresh in your mind. You knew you weren't getting any sleep alone so you decided to head to your boyfriend fives tent, you've been working with anakin skywalker and the 501st on a mission to scout out separatist activity on dantooine.

It was very quiet and peaceful as you walked to fives tent, the only noise that could be heard was the sound of soft snores coming from the other tents.

You reach his tent and you pause, wondering if you really want to bother him. You decide to go back to your tent and let him rest when you feel someone grab your hand, you turn around and see fives with a worried look on his face.

"Are you okay cyar'ika, you look upset."you look up at him feeling guilty.

"I'm fine fives, I'm sorry I woke you."

"You didn't wake me, I was already up. Now stop lying, I can tell something's wrong." he insists.

"Nothing's wrong sweetheart, I'll just go back to bed."

"Please tell me cyar'ika,"he says, pulling you against his chest and kissing the top of your head softly.

"you know that I hate it when you're upset."You can hear the worry in his voice and you relent.

"I had a nightmare."you whisper, as he starts pulling you into his tent and towards his cot.

You try to pull away, not wanting to bother him, but he won't have it, he has you sit down with him and he pulls you to his chest again.

"Do you want to talk about it, it might make you feel better." he asks softly, nuzzling the top of your head.

You take a deep breath and start telling him about your nightmare.

"I was in the middle of a battle, it was just like every battle except something didn't feel right." You look up at him with tears in your eyes.

"That's when I hear you scream." You tell him as your voice starts to waver.

"When I turn to look towards it, I see you with a blaster wound through your chest."the tears start falling down your face as you start sobbing quietly.

"shhh hey, it's okay."he whispers sweetly as he wipes your tears away, and hugs you tightly.

"was that the end of your dream?"he asks quietly, you shake your head no.

" I try to run to you but I can't move and I can hear you calling for me to help you, but I can't, you're about to stop breathing when I wake up." you say, quietly sobbing against his chest.

It takes you quit a while to calm down but fives is there the whole time holding on to you and whispering sweet nothings into you ear.

After a little while of just sitting there in silence with him you start to feel yourself  grow tired and you yawn, fives hears you and he chuckles.

"I guess it's time to go back to sleep." he whispers softy, laying down with you in his arms

You close your eyes, letting his soft breathing lull you to sleep.
