Rex x sick reader

You wake up with a headache and feeling kind of groggy, you also have a sore and scratchy throat, at this point you're pretty sure that you're sick, and probably should go back to bed but you know that you also have a job to do as a mechanic for the Grand Army of the Republic and can't afford to miss work.

What's worse is that right now the 501st is on a mission and since your one of their mechanics that means you have to go with them, so you can't even call in sick because then your boyfriend rex would get suspicious.

You really don't want him to find out that your sick because you don't want to worry him or have him take care of you, you love rex but you don't want to be a burden to him.

So you start getting dressed really trying not to move to fast because it just makes your headache worse, then you start making your way to the landing bay to make sure all the ships were in top shape so that nothing happens to your boys if there is a battle

You get to the landing bay when you start to feel nauseous and woozy, you stop and lean against a wall to try to let your stomach settle.

Once it settles you start checking all the ships and make sure they're in good shape, you finally get to the end of them when you hear someone calling your name.you turn around and see rex walking towards you. You're really hoping he doesn't notice that something's off with you

Once he gets over to you, you notice him pause and look you over.

"Are you feeling okay y/n, you look kind of pale"he asks sounding worried.

You look at him and do your best to sound like your usual self even with your sore throat.

"Yeah, perfectly fine" you cringe internally, hearing your raspy voice, you look over at him and smile innocently.

He smiles back at you, although he doesn't look very convinced, he seems to leave you be.

"Okay, if you say so" he says, halfheartedly,"I have to go and discuss battle strategy's with general skywalker, and then I have a mission, so I won't see you till tonight, okay"he looks at you, concern still in his eyes, he's very hesitant to leave you.

You wave off his hesitation"ok, I'll see you later"you tell him, still doing your best to hide your raspy voice.

You start working on a ship as he walks away, but about an hour after that you're starting to think that you should go to the med bay, you're starting to feel way worse than before, your world starts to spin and your vision goes fuzzy then you pass out.you're out before you even hit the floor.

At the moment you pass out fives is just entering the landing bay, he sees you fall and goes running worried out of his mind, as soon as he gets to you he checks to make sure you have a pulse, when he finds one he breathes a sigh of relief but also notices that you're burning with a fever

"y/n, can you hear me,"he asks frantically, his voice laced with worry for his friend, when he doesn't get an answer he picks you up and carrys you to the med bay so Kix can take care of you.

Rex is in the meeting with general Skywalker and general Kenobi when he gets a comm from fives, he answers it quietly as to not disturb the meeting.

"This better be important fives"rex whispers angrily, ready to punish fives for disturbing the meeting.

"y/n's sick and in the medbay"he tells him quickly, knowing that rex is gonna come running to the medbay to check on you.

"I'll come fill in at the meeting for you"fives tells him and then starts heading to the meeting.

Rex feels panic as soon as he hears that you're in the medbay, he excuses himself from the meeting and tells the generals that fives will fill in for him.
