A Beastly Rescue (Part 1)

Anakin paces throughout the hanger bay, worry coursing through him. Rex was kidnapped by the Separatists two weeks ago and they've finally found him, they are heading to the base he was taken to now.

Anakin is so scared for his boyfriend, this was all his fault. If he hadn't fought with Rex, then he wouldn't have stormed off. The fight was so stupid, he was being reckless once again and had almost gotten himself killed, it had scared Rex.

They had both screamed at eachother, saying things that they wished to take back. It ended in Rex storming out and getting captured by the Separatists.

"Anakin! We're here." He turns to see Obi Wan walk up, Anakin wipes the tears that have fallen away. Obi Wan places a hand on Anakin's shoulder, he knows how much Rex means to him. Anakin slams himself against Obi Wan in a tight hug, Obi Wan freezes then wraps his arms around Anakin.

"We'll get him back, I promise." Anakin nods against him, he's so scared. He lets go and composes himself, he can't let his emotions rule him.

"Okay, let's go!" Anakin and Obi Wan head down to the hanger bay where all the troopers are all ready to save their brother. Fives is leading the 501st in Rex's stead, they already had to storm the base anyway so Anakin didn't have to make up an excuse. Obi Wan will lead the attack while Anakin finds Rex, they all get on the gunships and finally head out.

They land and everyone goes running, shooting down as many droids as they can. Anakin demolishes the droids with his lightsaber, striking through as many as he can and crushing some with the force. They finally make it into the base.

"I'm going to get Rex!"

"We're fine here Anakin!" Obi Wan yells back as Anakin starts searching the base for Rex, he finds where they keep the prisoners. But it's empty save for one cell. Anakin walks up to it, but what he sees isn't Rex... Or human.

It's a giant blond wolf, it looks half human though. It's standing on its hind legs like a human, it had long arms and legs, it's arms ending in clawed fingers. It's body is muscular, with the torso looking sort of human. It has a pair of torn and shredded pants on.

It's eyes are bright yellow when it turns to look at him, as soon as it sees the fear in Anakins eyes it's ears fall back. Anakin doesn't understand what's wrong with the creature, it lets out a whine, looking straight into Anakins eyes, he doesn't know why those eyes seem so familiar.

Anakin goes to walk away, he's going to have too tell the council about the creature. But what's worst is that he might have been too late, Rex was supposed to be here, Rex might be dead.

He's filled with even more regret for the fight, tears coming to his eyes at the thought of never seeing Rex again.

"Anakin." He freezes when he hears the voice, turning around to see the creature staring at him with fear on its eyes.

"Ani." It calls out again and that's when it all clicks together, the creature is Rex. Those eyes are familiar because they're Rex's eyes, even if they're a different color, the voice is deeper but Anakin can recognize it too. He reaches out with the force just to make sure and he almost cries at the familiar force signature of his boyfriend.

"Rex?" Anakin says in disbelief and Rex smile's, he finally got through to him.

"Yeah, i-its me." Anakin runs over to the cell, trying to figure out the panel for the clear door. He finally gets the door open, Rex steps out and Anakin walks towards him, only for Rex to step away.

"Rex, what's wrong? Are you hurt?"

"Don't come near me!" Rex yells out, he's scared of hurting Anakin now that he's like this, but that's not how Anakin takes it.
