Chosen (CT- 7707)

This oneshot is about one of my oc's that had a small part in my fic, Fear of the Unknown, you don't have to read that fic to understand this one. There will be some more oneshots about him later on.

CT- 7707 doesn't have a name, he's only 8 years old but his batch is going to the frontline's sooner than usual. He's the youngest in his batch, the rest of them are 9 years old while he's only 8.

He knows that he won't be going to the frontline's, he'll be stuck on janitorial duty because of his defect. He can't stop stuttering, the kaminoans have tried everything to stop it. Many painful tests and procedures later he still can't stop,  even his own batchmates mock him, they don't believe in him at all.

Him and his batchmates are all standing in a line now, waiting to see who's chosen to be apart of the legendary 501st. From what they've heard, Captain Rex is coming to hand pick some troopers himself.

Shaak Ti comes walking in with Captain Rex following behind her, he's carrying his helmet behind him. But what really calls CT- 7707's attention is that he's got blond hair, he shakes it off though. It's probably dyed.

Captain Rex walks down the line of troopers, they all hold their heads up straight. CT- 7707 keeps his head held high just like the others, he knows that he won't be picked, but might as well try.

The Captain stops right in front of him and he freezes, his batchmates chuckle. They know as well as he does that as soon as the Captain hears his voice he'll dismiss him.

The Captain turns to his batchmates, giving them a glare. They quiet down immediately.

"What are you all laughing at?" Captain Rex ask's loudly and clearly, they all just stare at him.

"Come on. Tell me what's so funny?" Shaak Ti sighs, she knows how CT- 7707 batchmates treat him. She's tried to stop them but it just continue's.

"It's just that you stopped at CT- 7707." The Captain raises an eyebrow, he doesn't understand why that's do funny.

"So?" One of his batchmates steps up.

"So, he's a defect. You'll see as soon as he talks to you." CT- 7707 just looks down at his feet, he knew that he'd never be a soldier. He just knew it.

"Let me hear it?" CT- 7707 looks up, blinking in confusion. He doesn't understand.

"Come on, Vod. Let me hear your voice. Tell me your name." Everyone is staring at him now, making him feel nervous. He takes a deep breath, he can't avoid what's going to happen.

"H-hello Capt-t-tain, I'm C-C-CT-7707. And I d-don't have a-a name." CT- 7707 is staring at his feet, the nerves made him worse than usual and he feels so embarrassed. He's shaking and feels like he could cry. He feels a hand on his shoulder, and looks up to see the Captain smiling kindly at him. He turns to the other troopers and frowns.

"You're all dismissed, except for this Vod'ika right here." His batchmates look surprised and confused, Shaak Ti ushers them out, and the Captain turns back to him.

"Would you like to be part of the 501st, Vod'ika?" CT- 7707 he doesn't understand why this Captain wants him in the 501st, he's just a defect.

"W-why do you w-want me? I-I'm just a d-d-defective clone." The Captain Rex smiles sadly, he feels so bad for the way this troopers batchmates treated him. Batchmates are supposed to have your back and build you up, not break you down.

"You know, I'm a defect too. I don't dye my hair." CT- 7707 eyes widen, he can't believe that he was wrong.

"Now do you want to be part of the 501st?" He nods quickly and enthusiasticly, prompting a laugh from the Captain.

"Come on, Vod'ika. Let's get you some armor and then we can go." CT- 7707 follows behind Rex as they head to get him some armor, he can't believe that he's going to be part of the 501st.

They get to where they store the armor and Shaak Ti is already their waiting.

"Captain, I see that CT- 7707 chose to join the 501st." The Captain nods.

"Yes, ma'am. He's just grabbing some armor and then we'll head back to Coruscant." She hands him some armor and he gets it on, he can't wait to paint it to be his own.

They head to the hanger bay and get into a gunship, CT- 7707 is super nervous. He hopes that the other 501st members like him, but he doubts it. If they are anything like his batchmates, he's going to be ridiculed again.

"Hey" CT- 7707 hears Captain Rex say softly and he looks up at him.

"You don't have to be so nervous, the rest of our brothers are going to love you. And if you do have any troubles,  you come to me, okay." CT- 7707 nods, he hopes that what the Captain says is true.
