It can't be...
The lights come back on and it's exactly the person I have in mind.
"Jacob why did you scare me like that" I say pushing him away and he laughs like a mad man.
"A simple I MISSED YOU would have been great" he says with a playful frown.
"After that stunt you just pulled, I'd rather give you a welcome back beating" I playfully ball my fists threatening to punch him
"I'm sorry cuz, I just wanted to have a grand come back, I didn't think you'll be that scared " he smiles and raises his hands in surrender.
Jacob Chukwuka Edwards is my cousin from my dad's side. He's 18 and has been in Europe for a year. He's free spirited, fun, crafty and always smile. He's the master prankster of the family and like the brother I never had.
"Pfft... I wasn't scared" I give an assuring look hoping he doesn't stretch it further.
"Sure you weren't" he says sarcastically
"So how's college been dude?" I say changing the subject
"It's been good, kinda stressful tho but it's alright, you're entering uni this year right?" He says
"Yh, I'll meet all the requirements later"
"You must be starving, let's getting dinner" he nods and I smile
"Yh, I'm famished, I could eat a Shane" he says laughing loudly
"You'll never change bro" I slap his back

"I really missed Nigerian food. Garri (casava mould) and egusi (melon) soup will forever be bae" he says savaging his dish.
"Of course, it's the best" I say also eating my food
We talk about life, school, guy things, football and a lot more, we're just catching up on each other's life tho.
He tells me about how the European girls are flirting with him and he won Prom king a few months back.
He's a really nice personality, sometimes I just look at him and I begin to thank God for having such a vibrant person in my life. His smile is contagious and he has the kind of persona that everyone needs. He's what I'll call perfect although they say nothing is perfect in life.
"Dude, you zoned out on me" he waves at my face
"Oh, sorry" I say and drink from my cup of grape juice.
"Sooo.... Any bae in your life cuz" he says smirking and raising his eyebrows.
I nearly spit out the contents in my mouth.
"No dude, I don't have anyone I vibe with.
I don't need to be in a relationship right now, I don't have anyone in mind" I say straight out
"Okay, but with your looks, I won't be surprised how many girls are yarning to be your bae. I'm sure you'll be the ladies man in uni" he says chuckling.
I shrug him off, swat his shoulder and we laugh for hours
"Dude, it's been long I saw your art studio, let me check it out" I lead to the art studio and switch on the lights.
"Woah, there are so many new paintings here, I think I'll be reviewing them from now on" his eyes filled with Glee
"Sure" I smile
He crouches and picks up one of the paintings but this one is the painting I did of Valerie.
He looks at me quizzically
"I thought you said you got no boo"
What, Valerie isn't
"Yh, I did, she's just a friend of mine" I assure him
"Well, that's the only painting you've done of a friend" he says stretching the word friend
"She's different....I just felt like painting her" hoping that came out right
"Oh really?" He says with a smirk
"Stop it dude, I'm serious. She's just a friend!" I spit out.
"Okay, okay, whatever you say, you have a really beautiful friend" he smiles widely
"Yh, she's cute" I say feeling weird
