Chapter 22

Umayos s'ya ng tayo nang makita ako. Nang makalapit, mabangong s'ya agad ang naamoy ko.

"Hi!" bati ko.

His brows furrowed in confusion. "Anong meron?"

I just gave him a small smile, ignoring his question.

"Weird mo," he said while looking at me. Humalakhak na 'ko at umiling.

"I have something to tell you," wika ko, natutuwa sa reaksyon n'ya. Mas lalo s'yang umayos ng tayo. Mas naging attentive.

"What is it?" he curiously asked. His brows furrowed more.

Naglakad ako patungong front seat. "Just drive," I said before I opened the door para makaupo na roon.

He immediately opened the door of the driver seat and sat down.

"Ano nga?" kulit niya. Ang buong atensyon, nasa akin.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "Just drive," I said with a ghost of a smile on my lips. Umirap s'ya ng pabiro nang walang matinong makuha sa 'kin.

"Crush mo lang ako," he whispered but I heard it.

I just shook my head and smiled. Instead of saying anything, I busy myself by looking outside.

"What are we going to talk about?" he asked in a serious voice. His eyes, still on the road.

"Ano bang gusto mong pag-usapan?" I asked back.

He just glanced at me and didn't answer my question. "Gagawin mo lang ata 'kong driver," aniya.

"Pwede rin," I teased.

"Tsk. Boyfriend na lang..." he joked.

Mas lalo akong ngumisi. "Bawal."

He smirked at my answer and shifted a bit on his seat. "Manliligaw?" subok niya.

I bit my lower lip and looked at the window again. "Sige," I whispered to myself.

Ganoon na lang ang gulat ko nang biglang huminto ang sasakyan n'ya. My eyes widened when I faced him. Nasa gitna kami ng highway!

"Adam—"

"What did you say?" seryoso ang tingin n'ya.

"Where in the mi—" hindi ko na itinuloy nang makita ang stop light. Now I realize why he stopped driving.

My gaze went to him. Naghihintay ang tingin n'ya. "Say it again," he demanded.

I sighed. Narinig pala n'ya 'yon. He raised a brow when he didn't hear anything from me.

Aba! Napaka demanding naman nito.

"Are you giving me a chance?" He asked in a serious but hopeful tone.

"Why do you think I called you earlier?" hamon ko.

Little by little, a smirk flashed on the side of his lips. Pilit n'yang pinapaseryoso ang mukha ngunit hindi s'ya nagtagumpay.

"So... Payag ka na?"

Umirap ako at nag-iwas ng tingin ngunit nangingisi.

"Sabi na nga ba crush mo pa rin ako," hindi ko man tingnan, bakas sa boses n'ya ang pang-aasar.

Hindi ako umimik at nanatiling nakangisi. He started to drive again when the lights turned green.

"Are you really serious?" he asked after few minutes. Halatang hindi pa rin makapaniwala.
