Dream On Fire

chapter 24

You sighed, you had given up on telling this Bokuto character your name. You tried to listen to their conversation but you were pretty distracted by your surroundings. There was this new guy that looked like Iwaizumi who was walking around and then you were distracted by how pretty the pool was. You looked up to the sky, it was so beautiful. You wondered if you should leave to go talk to Iwaizumi. 

You looked around for Iwaizumi, what was he wearing again? The more you looked around the more you panicked. You calmed down when you saw him talking to a silver haired boy near the grill Daichi was trying to set up. "Then it went BOOM and KAPOW." Bokuto explained excitedly. You wondered if you would be able to slip away. 

Mission: Get Away From Oikawa, Kuroo, Bokuto, and Kenma, was ago. You tried to talk again, but no one noticed. You resulted in tapping on his shoulder, he turned around, "Yes?" 

"I'm gonna go talk to Iwaizumi." 

He nodded, "Okay, have fun." 

You nodded and went over to Iwaizumi and the silver haired boy. "H-hi, Iwaizumi." 

"Hi y/n, Y/n this is Sugawara, Sugawara this is y/n." Iwaizumi explained, wasting no with introductions. 

"You can call me Suga." Suga said. 

You nodded, "S-sorry for intruding on your conversation." You cursed yourself, what was with this stutter. 

"No need to apologize, we were just talking about volleyball." Iwaizumi stated blankly.

You nodded, you were glad you were talking to Suga and Iwaizumi now, they were way easier to talk to then the others. The party went along as planned, and no one had gotten into the water yet. it looks like people were talking and catching up. Slowly people started to get into the pool. 

Bokuto was the first one, he loudly cannon balled into the pool. Second was Kuroo who thought he could do a better cannon ball then Bokuto so he jumped in also. Kenma had pulled up a lawn chair and sitting on that playing games. Oikawa was trying and failing to blow up a beach ball, and Daichi ran over to help him. The guy who looked like Iwaizumi had now joined your conversation, his name was Akaashi. It looked like the girl named Kiyoko was sunbathing and reading an old magazine.

You soon learned Akaashi didn't talk much, but that didn't really matter to you.  Suga, Akaashi, and Iwaizumi were a more calm group of people and it made you less nervous. By this point in time Kuroo was out of the pool and convincing Kenma to go swimming with him. To everyone's surprise, Kenma eventually agreed and went swimming with Kuroo. Oikawa had finally blown up the beach ball and was asking people to play volleyball with him. Eventually he gave up and was actively trying to throw people in the pool with Bokuto, they weren't very successful so far. You watched them paranoid that they would try to throw you in the deep end and you'd drown. 

"You okay y/n?" Daichi asked, approaching the group. 

"Ya, I'm just worried Oikawa might try and throw me in the pool." you admitted. You felt like you could trust Daichi for some reason, he was friendly and nice.

"They better not try to throw me or you in the pool." Iwaizumi sneered. 

"Aw, c'mon guys! It's all fun and games!" Suga said waving his hands in front of him. 

"I guess." Akaashi said sipping his juice box. You nodded but you were still worried.

"Its getting kind of hot do you guys want to get in the pool?" Daichi asked. Suga, and Iwaizumi were in the pool and now it was just Akaashi and you on the pool deck. Akaashi said he wanted to finish his juice box first. You decided you needed to get in the pool before Akaashi because other wise you'd be left with Kiyoko on the pool deck. 

There was nothing wrong with Kiyoko she just seemed really busy at the moment and you didn't want to bother her. You took a deep breathing, and got ready to go in the pool. You felt bad about leaving Akaashi on the pool deck but you shrugged it off, "I'm going to be in the pool if you need me." Akaashi nodded. Why would he even need you, god you were such a dumb ass. You slipped in the pool and sat on the stairs, you made sure to not get in anyones way, so they could use the stairs to. 

You looked around for something to do but before you could Oikawa came up to you, "Were playing volleyball would you like to play?" 

"Sure. I'm not that good though." 

"It's fine, I'll make sure you're on my team so I can coach you through it." You nodded and followed Oikawa to the others. 

"We need to pick two team captain," Kuroo suggested. 

Bokuto flung his arms in the air, "Oh, me! I wanna be a team captain." 

"Okay..." Kuroo looked around. "Anyone else want to be a captain?" before anyone else could speak Kuroo declared themselves as captain. Kuroo and Bokuto played rock paper scissors, Kuroo lost so Bokuto chose the shallow end of the pool and the first pick. 

Bokuto chose Akaashi to be on his team and Kuroo chose Oikawa. Bokuto then chose Daichi. You could see Kuroo and Oikawa was whispering to each other before Kuroo picked you to be on his team. You made your way to the other side of the net and the deeper end of the pool. You were more nervous that you were in the deep end, but you could just barely touch the ground so it was okay for now. 

Bokuto then chose Iwaizumi and Kenma and Kuroo chose Suga and some kid with a buzzcut who was the official vice captain for Nekoma.
