Early that morning, I had miss Layla's coffee ready and to go. I had the barista put a heart in her latte. I felt courageous enough to face whatever the boss wanted. I headed for her door and knocked three times like I'd seen Matt do. Placing her coffee on the table, I turned to leave. Miss Layla was busy with multiple files in the table and as her personal assistant, I knew she had a meeting in an hours time. According to Matt, miss Layla gets to office earlier than all the employees in the company and also leaves later than everyone else.

As I settled in my seat, in my office which was right beside miss Layla's, I braced myself for a day indeed. A minute hadn't passed yet when I had my name being yelled in a murderous tone.

"Mr Jordan!" She had buzzed the intercom with haste that scared the life out of me.

"Yes Ma'am" I answered my heart in my throat. This woman was downright scary, too scary for a lady.

"My office, right now." The silence prevailed. What I had done, I had no clue whatsoever.

Putting a foot ahead of the other I headed for her office with a pale face. After letting myself in, I took a seat on the leather chair that was sitting opposite her.

"What the hell is this?" She referred to her cup of coffee which was still full.

"Um....coffee?" I managed with a grimace.

"What did Mathew tell you about my coffee!" Then it clicked. Matt had told me that she liked her coffee black and with two sugars but instead I had put milk in her coffee and had it sweetened.

"I'm sorry Ma'am." I apologized.

She glared at me then sent me to get her another coffee. When I had her now black coffee, I placed it on the table and was about to leave before she told me to take a seat.

What now?

"I'm going to tell you a short story." She stopped whatever she was doing and turned to look at me. Her eyes were a green-brown colour, strange but alluring. I felt trapped within her gaze and couldn't look anywhere else. They were beautiful and strange for a woman of her origin.

"Ma'am, about the coffee I'm sorry. I don't have an excuse but I simply forgot. It is my first day and I know it'll take getting used to all this but I'll do my best." I defended myself.

"Just.....you don't interrupt me when I'm talking. Got it?" I simply nodded my head dumbfounded at her authority. I was used to being a dom in everything and this was very new to me.

"A farmer was on his farm on a rainy day collecting firewood when he came across a viper. His first impulse was to strike it first before it struck him. When he took a closer look at the viper, it was shaking with cold since it had been rained on and it looked like it was about to die. The farmer took pity on it and carried it to his house where he placed it by the fire where a few embers were still burning. As he went about his business the viper got warmer and warmer and when he went to check up on it, the viper turned to him and put his lethal fangs in his leg releasing the venom in his body.

'' So,  what have you learned from the story?" She looked at me expectantly.

"Well.. the farmer was obviously nuts. A snake will remain to be a snake, just like a lepper can't change his spots.  He should have thought of that." I replied the corners of my mouth rising up in a corny smirk.

"As expected. Anyway, the farmer still remains to be the hero because he knew the snake would turn against him yet he dared to help it. This may all be strange to you but here's what I have to say, I know that your name is not Collins Jordan and I also know where you live and the necessary information. I had a background check done on you because I didn't want a murderer for a PA. As heartless as I may be sometimes, I'm giving you the benefit of a doubt though I know you're going to screw me over. I'm just hoping you turn out to be a green mamba than a cobra."

She knows I'm not Collins Jordan. It is just a matter of time before she knows my plan as well.

I just looked at her dumbfounded.
