Special thanks to Maya_kelly4, FanficFan50, sophie_swadil, MichelleManisha, TheCoronation2020, divy0901 for helping me not give up on my story. This chapter wouldn't have been possible if not for their help and support. This is the continuation of the story from the previous account Taranee6284 which I no longer use for writing books. It is still active though because I used it to submit my story called The Other Side to the wattys2020 hence I cannot take it down completely until the wattys2020 is over and the winners have been announced.

Love.
Taranee.
"Were you expecting someone," I asked Miss Leyla fearing that whoever was on the other side of the door would somehow know what had been happening.
Because come on, the place reeked of sweat and well..something else. Something sweet.
Miss Leyla looked at me like I was the dumbest person on earth.
"This is my office, of course, I expect people every other workday." She scanned the room looking for any sign of something suspicious. Lucky for us there was not.
Two lads strutted inside without invitation and plopped on the sofa.
Damn, that sofa.
I could see the resemblance of the two to Miss Leyla. From my research, I could tell it was Nick and Reed, the famous Pierce brothers who were known for their charm and money. Nicholas Pierce, owner of the Pierce Law Firm was known for the heartbreaks he left on his wake. Reedman Pierce, owner of the Layered hotels was no different from his brother. The duo was topping the hottest and richest bachelors in New York City. When I looked into their faces, I could see where the Pierce Family got their ruthlessness in business from. They were all hardworking people.
And that made Leyla the perfect victim of our plan.
I knew that if I were to bring Miss Leyla down, she would still get reinforcement from her family.
"Radina, Nani huyu?" Reed asked his sister in a language that I was guessing was Swahili.
"Ooh, this is my personal assistant Mr Jordan. Mr Jordan these are my troublesome brothers Nick and Reed." Miss Leyla introduced feigning a look that made the brothers believe that there was nothing going on between us.
"We saw what happened on the internet. Did you break up with Sean? I told you that man was a pest but you kept saying how cute he was and you wanted him to be your baby daddy. I guess you learnt the hard way." Reed said as he made himself comfortable.
Miss Leyla blushed, her cheeks turning a crimson colour. The look triggered a smile of my own because damn I couldn't help.
"Yo man behave," Nick smacked his brother's head and he groaned like a child. " What did that loser do anyway. I'm going to break his neck. When we actually think that you got a good man to give us little nieces and nephews, something just has to happen to screw shit up." Nick proceeded. Miss Leyla blushed even more at that. The look she had on her face said that anywhere was preferable than staying in the office and get embarrassed by her brothers.
"Damn paparazzi!" Miss Leyla cussed and we all turned to look at her. She never cussed before. She was always choosing her words, which brought us back to the fact that she just did.
"Man, our little baby is growing up. She said damn." Reed, the most notorious of the two spoke. I couldn't control the laughter that escaped my mouth. The two brothers were insufferable. It was fun watching the trio bicker back and forth.
I had to leave before I overstayed my welcome. In fact, I looked out of place with the three rich maniacs alongside me. I didn't trust myself to say anything sensible in their presence.
"Nick, Reed, it was nice meeting you. Hey Leyla, I'll take my leave now." I said before I realized my slip up.
"Wait, hold up right there man, She lets you call her Leyla? How long have you two worked together? What happened to that Matteo guy or something?" It was Nick's turn to interrogate me. Miss Leyla pinned me with a glare.
Oh shit!
"I...we" oh shit
"One month and a few weeks." Miss Leyla answered curtly. I had screwed up. I remember one day she had told me to never call her Leyla. I didn't know the reason behind that but clearly it wasn't good.
"No sir, she never allows anyone to call her that. I just... I forgot. I am sorry."
The air had changed. It was glazed with emotions and I was the one responsible for that. How I managed to ruin a good moment was beyond me. The tension was palpable in the room. Nick had his fist curled as he fixed me with a glare that could send someone to the pits of hell. Reed was pacing the room trying to calm his anger.
What had I done?
"Go. Please." Miss Leyla dismissed me still not meeting my eyes. I excused myself and walked away shamefacedly. Their anger was spiralling out of control by the minute and I didn't want to remain behind and get acted upon.
I called Trevor and told him to meet me at my house and that we needed to talk.
My blood was ice cold with worry. Small beads of sweat found their way off my face.
The brothers' anger had mystified me. What the hell was wrong with them? It's just a fucking name! I slowly walked home worry laced and disturbed more than I had been before. I couldn't minister a single thought as to what wrong I did but my mind zeroed to nothing.
Could they be any less ambiguous?
