A Journey To You

Chapter 14:

"Who is this?" He asked. "Melody. Justin, where are you?" I could hear his intake of breath "I'm at home. W-where are you? Are you okay?" He nearly yelled in the phone. "I'm okay but I don't know where I am. Is Ashley and Ashton with you?" Luna came back and told me that we were in a town called Reiville. I didn't even know she left. "Yeah. They were freaking out for the first few months, but they've settled a bit." I sighed in relief. "Wait. Did you say months? How long was I gone?" I asked, my voice just above a whisper. "Almost two years." I could hear the tears in his voice. "T-two y-years?" I couldn't believe it's been that long. "Melody, find out where you're at." Justin said, clearing his throat. "I'm in a small town called Reiville." Justin hummed as he tried to decide what to do. "Get to Redwood somehow. I'll meet you there. Bye, little sister. Love ya." Justin said before abruptly hanging up the phone. "Bye, bro." I smiled and turned to my companions. "We're going to Redwood. Anyone know where that is?" I asked them with a smile that didn't reach my eyes. "I have a map that y'all can have, if ya need it." We all turned to see an elderly man holding a map up with an almost youth-like gleam in his eyes. "You wouldn't mind?" I asked him, unsurely. "Of course. I can't use it anymore. I'm old! The farthest trip I take is my house to here. I don't need a map for that, now do I?" He laughed. "So, what do ya young'ens need up there in Redwood, anyhow? It's a long trip. About four days if I can recall." Four days? Yay. Sounds fun. Take note of my clear excitement. Not! "We have to meet my older brother up there." I told him. "Do ya have a vehicle or something to get there? It's too long of a journey to have nothing." Why was he worried about us? He didn't even know our names. "No sir. We don't, but we can make the trip. Easy." Rayne proudly boasted. The old man chuckled. "Sir, I do believe we can make it." I said while Rayne and Luna nodded. "Alrighty, then. Before y'all go, where are you from, anyway?" He questioned us as he handed us the map. "Holly Ridge. We're from Holly Ridge." I said, cutting a look at the two girls. "You wouldn't happen to know a gal by the name of Eithel, would ya?" He asked, a certain sadness in his eyes. "Yes sir." I smiled at him. "When ya see her again, tell her I miss her. The names Tim, by the way." I shook his hand. "I'm Melody. And this is Luna and Rayne." I gestured to the girls. With a final farewell, we set off to Redwood.
