✨sixteen; why now?

it was during recess, nara was alone since renjun and hana had to mentor the younger students' band.

she sat on the playing ground bench looking at the younger students playing.

a hand rested on her shoulder.

"nara.." a voice called.

her eyes were filled with tears upon hearing that voice, a lump was on her throat.

she look over at her shoulder, seeing the one who makes her feel loved and unwanted at the same time.

he wore their uniform.

"how are you nara?"

nara, i know that it's hard but at least act tough.

"go away" she stood up and walks away fastly.

"wait nara" he quickly followed.

nara wanted to be with hana at this times.

nara's heart beat fasten as she was panicking, walking across the corridor while junkai was calling and following her.

jeno, she saw jeno near his locker and stopped infront of him.

"oh hey nara!" he smiled,.

his famous eye smile that can instantly lighten up every mood.

junkai stopped few meters behind nara.

"jeno, please help me" she said, approaching closer to him.

"what is it?" he dumbfoundedly asked.

she hugged him and whispered in his ears,"act with me,my ex is behind me and i don't know what to do."

jeno wrapped his hands around her, his eyes meets junkai's eyes.

he finally understand what's happening.

jaemin told jeno about nara's ex who had left her, so he knows.

he broke the hug and smiled at nara, he pats her head," I'm sorry for making you wait" he said making sure the latter has heard it.

"it's okay" she replied.

"let's go" he smiled while intertwining their hands.

they sat near each other in jeno's classroom.

"jeno, thank you so much" she thanked him for the nth time.

"I said it's nothing,nara..but what will you do? he transferred over here in this school, he can always see what's happening between us" he finally said.

"I don't know"

"Oh,you can instead ask renjun to help you"

"they're cousins" she replied.

"oh.." he paused,"then, you can always call me if you need help I'm always at class,okay?" he smiled.

"thank you" she replied with a smile.

jeno had a weird feeling inside his stomach.

"you're pretty" oh shoot, no why did you say that loud lee jeno

jeno's face was either flustered at this point.

"LEE JENO!!!" jaemin shouted as he was about enter inside the class"THE BASKET BALL TEAM HAS- oh, hi nara"

jaemin noticed his best friend's change of colour

lee jeno don't tell me you like her.

"hello jaemin" she answered,he sat in the empty table infront of the two chairs that was occupied by them.

"jaemin what were you saying?" jeno questioned.

"oh we had a new member in the basket ball team, they said he's a good player...wait i forgot his name it's wang something." jeno is the captain of the school basket ball team so he has to know everything about his team.

"about that" nara suddenly spoke.

"he's her ex" jeno continued.

"AH that's why his name was so familiar" he gasp in a dramatic way,"sorry" he apologized when he saw both of their plain faces."his name is wang junkai, right?"

nara nodded.

the bell rang and went back to
their respective places.

renjun joined the class soon after and sit besides jaemin.

"renjun there's something i have to tell-"

"na jaemin! why are you talking while i eas explaining?!" the teacher shouted.

"I'm sorry miss" he bowed apologetically and sigh.
