Epilogue

Six years later

It's been six years since they welcomed Ryder James. Their little family of three has grown in the last six years. Not only have they had three more kids. But there were no longer living in Bucky's late Aunt Darby's house.

Bucky shortly after they had Ryder built Landry's dream house on his piece of land. Not only that but their road where his land was had been named "Strawberry Lane."

When Landry asked why he called it Strawberry Lane.

"Because of you. When I was 16 my dad and grandpa told me this was my road. That it's where I was to build houses for my family. I needed to name my road. And Um you always smelt like strawberries. You saved me each time I needed you so I named my road Strawberry Lane in honor of the girl that saved me."

They eloped when Ryder was six months old. Which resulted in another baby they welcomed their second baby a baby girl. She was named Westlynn Brooke.

Now it was present day they had six year old Ryder 5 year old Westlynn. They were all gathered in the kitchen early one Saturday morning. Bucky was making breakfast for the family as Landry fed their 3 month old son Gabriel James with their 3 year old daughter Abigail Jane sitting beside her coloring.

Westlynn was sitting on the counter by the stove talking 90 miles a minute to him.

"Who wants eggs?" Bucky said

"Me!" Abigail said

"I do dad." Ryder said

"Baby?" Bucky said

Landry yawned. "Yeah me too." She said

He picked up her coffee cup. "I'll get you more. The other three slept through the night by this point." Bucky said

"I know." she said as she made sure Gabe was still latched.

Bucky finished making breakfast gave everyone plates. He took Gabe from Landry."Come here little guy we gotta let mama eat. And you need to a diaper change." He said as he walked off.

Once everyone was done with breakfast.

"Ryder you going with me?" Bucky said as he finished putting dishes in the dishwasher.

"Yeah.." Ryder said

"Go get your shoes on." Bucky said

"Yes sir." Ryder said as he ran off.

"Daddy I go.." Abigail toddled over to him.

"Aww little princess you know daddy would take you if I could." He said as he squatted to her.

She made a pouty face and started to sniffles. "Aww Abbi baby. Don't do that to daddy." He said as hugged her.

"Buck can't you put her on your shoulders at practice. I know Ryder is took big for that but that is what you use to do with him." Landry said as he picked her up.

"Yeah I can do that. Let's go get you ready princess." He said as he walked out of the kitchen.

After Bucky took off with two of the kids Landry had Westlynn help her around the house. While Bucky was on his way home from coaching summer football practice he got a phone call.

"Hello." He said as he put his ear piece in.

Both Ryder and Abbi were asleep in the backseat of his truck.

"Barnes. It's Coach Doug Lockard." The other voice said

"Coach Lockard you still coaching UGA?" He said

"I'm actually retired. The college has been having a hard time finding my replacement. I was wondering if maybe you would like to come in and interview?" Coach Lockard said

"Well um. That's something I have to discuss with my wife. Can I get back to you on this?" Bucky said as he turned down the main gravel road.

"Of course. Just call me back once you talk to her." Coach Lockard said

"Okay good. Talk to you soon." He said

As he was driving down the road. "Why can't people leave me alone. I'm done with it all."

That night after they got the kids in bed they were in bed. Bucky told her about the phone call.

She looked down. "Baby I don't want to do this if you don't want me to." He said

"It's just that I know that he meant a lot to you. And I know in some way you feel like you owe him something too." She said

Bucky stayed silent for a few minutes. "Landry this job is different from high school coaching. I'm gone a lot during football season. The away games I told you how they work when the NFL called me last year for the same damn job." He said

She swallowed hard. "If you take this job promise me that you won't leave me or cheat on me." She said

Bucky scooted closer to her he cupped her cheek. "Baby I don't want to lose you. And if you have that fear already then I'm not gonna take it. I'm done with that life you are my love and my life. Right here on our street with our kids our family and friends. I'm not defined by football anymore." He said

She smiled at him. "I just don't want you to hate me." She said

"I could never hate you baby. This is scaring me you said that when we first moved into this house." He said as he wiped away a stray tear on her cheek.

She looked down. "Landry?" He said

"When my dad first started to get bad. He thought he was still married to my mom. But it was like the end of their marriage time frame." She said

"Okay..I hope you have a point with this story." He said

"I do. Anyways me and Oakley were sitting there at the house. This was before we put him in home." She said

"Dad started spouting off about how he hated her. That mom lied to him and he was going to leave her. Me and Oakley learned the truth about their divorce that day. Mom had gotten her tubes tied the day she had me. Dad wanted more kids and mom didn't. He started going on and on about how he went to specialist to make sure he didn't suddenly become sterile. It was scary to learn that their marriage fell apart because she stripped him of having a big family. I just don't want you to one day be sitting there with our kids suffering from dementia going off about how I took your second chance away to play for the NFL..or coach for the NFL or College team." She said

"Baby..I am not going to be like that. Believe me baby I am in no way regretting the decisions I made. Is it not obvious to you Landry Eloise. I am in love with you and I have been since I was 15. I was a stupid dumb ass kid that was looking for a way out of here and I wanted to get the hell out and never look back. But you..you happened to me. I named my damn road after you. I walked away from what I felt for you Landry. But I came back and I found your ass. And I am not going to leave you again." He said

He kissed her they began to make out in their bed. They took advantage of Gabe still being asleep and had sex.

"Oh god..that felt amazing." She whispered as they laid there.

"So much better than shower sex. That boy needs to start sleeping through the night." He said as he wiped his forehead.

She let out a laugh.

"Good night my angel." He said

"Goodnight baby." She said as they cuddled up.

And 8 months later

"It's another boy!" Dr Hollis said

"Kayden James welcome to the world." Bucky said as he cut his cord.

Three minutes later..

"And here is baby sister." Dr Hollis said

"Alexis Preslynn welcome to the world princess." He said as he cut her cord.

Bucky followed their twins up to the nursery while Dr Hollis tied her tubes. Bucky had already gotten his vasectomy done but they wanted to extra pre caution since they were now 37.
