Your Eyes

You've got coffee eyes
with flecks of gold
melting within them,
and one glance
paints colors against my skin.
I like the way you look at me,
for your eyes are sunlight against honey,
and I'd love it if you stay with me.

The chocolate in your eyes
always seems to melt
when you meet my shy gaze,
its rich surface dripping away
to reveal its caramel depths.
One look from you
and I fall in love all over again.

What is it about your eyes?
How could something so trivial
mesmerize me so instantly?

Your eyes are peppered with
cinnamon and chai spices,
your stare swarmed by heated
passion when you see me.
It makes me want to drown
amidst your hungry gaze -
the cocoa brown torrents
of your eyes washing me away
until I am entirely enveloped in you.

You look at me
as if I am the sanctuary
you've spent years desperately searching for -
as though
I am everything that
you strive towards.

I want to continue seeing
your eyes light up,
the umber colors further deepening
into more than just infatuation
when you look at me.
So stay with me.
I want to be the only thing
you can't keep your
eyes off of.
