I heard the rumble of the car's motor then the roar as he got ready to rip. I put my seat belt on and gripped Ryan's hand. We had a clean strip of road with no cars on it. Hardly anyone was out at this time. I had gotten back from the book store six hours ago. I bit my lips as the excitement surged though my body. The air was warm around me and my eyes focused ahead of us. We wanted to reach the horizon, touch the sky and find where the roads ended; ride the wind and soar ahead of asphalt wings of exhaust. Ryan pressed a button and loud rock music started playing. We banged our heads, getting more and more pumped.

"You ready babe?" He smiled at me with big honey eyes. I placed my hand on the gear shift and put it in drive. He turned over the motor again so it growled loudly. He placed one hand on the wheel and took my hand in his other. He stomped on the gas and the car shot forward. I felt the wind rustling through my hair and whizzing in my ears.

"Faster!" I screamed.

"We're already doing a hundred, let's see if it'll do one thirty!" he yelled pressing harder, and faster we went. We whirled around a turn going into the abandoned town, screaming for the fun of it. I leaned into him when he flew around the turn.

"I love this car!" I yelled throwing my hands in the air feeling the windslip through my fingers and the adrenaline course through my blood giving me my all time high. This, this was the best kind.

"Oh shit!" He hadn't turned early enough. We were going to crash into Mr. Carder's Bakery! I screamed this time in fear. We were going over one-hundred miles per hour and there was no turning back. This was the end. There was no way we could survive this. So what happens after? Ryan shot from his seat and into mine. He grabbed my waist and ripped the door open. His body was shaking as we flew through the air. I felt fur next to the skin where my shirt didn't cover. I would not open my eyes yet. I heard the huge crash of metal against wood. We still hadn't hit the concrete. I felt myself moving in the air. My body never hit the ground. Instead I found myself straddling something, while the wind whipped at my cheeks tangling my hair. I finally opened my eyes.

The car went straight through the little shop and landed on the other side in the grassy field. The car was in shambles. The window was cracked; the door indented on both sides pressing in on the seats, the front entirely smashed. My favorite car was basically un-repairable. The only reason I could see this was because I was twelve feet in the air. My head was cradled in a muscled neck of deep chocolate fur. My pale legs were around its back. Only one assumption could be made. I was on Ryan's back. This was not the Ryan I knew. This was a Lupose.

"Ryan¼" I hoped for an answer. If not, I had to believe I was in more danger here then back in the car. My only answer was a low bark.

"Ryan, can you put me down for a second?" I asked, my voice cracking slightly. He leaned forward and went down onto all fours. I was still a good six feet from the ground. One large hairy paw with long black claws extended back towards me. I grabbed onto it as he lowered me to the ground. Once on the ground I got a good look at him. He got back on two paws. He had a large muscular chest, strong hind legs that supported his immense weight. The back legs led up to a long torso which lead to the long front legs which had powerful paws and claws. His face was what shocked me. Instead of the face of a deranged animal, it was the face of a sweet, very upset wolf with a large jaw and white teeth that flicked between his closed lips. The deep purple eyes I had grown to know looked highly docile. He began to whimper, then he brought his paw to his mouth and licked it. It was torn and the front of it was matted with shining rose colored liquid.
