I ended up on top of the school. My legs hung over the parapet, my hair ruffling in the breeze, my teeth chattering from the cold. All and all, I could say I wasn't a very happy person creation...thing¼at the moment. I turned my gaze to the ever changing number on my wrist. What happened when it reached zero? I wondered where Josh was. Did he return back home yet? Was he still out running in the woods trying to shake the guilt I saw in those indigo eyes before he disappeared? I didn't know, and at the moment it was killing me. I looked down at the world so far below. Casey, a girl in my science class and her boyfriend were locking lips over on the field. I wrinkled my nose. It looked more like he was eating her face than kissing her, in all honesty.

I turned my attention to the person walking to her car. It was my crazy English teacher. She had a stack of books in her arms and wasn't looking where she was going. A car was coming and she was about to be hit. I jumped from the roof, my feet hitting the pavement like a crack of thunder. I ran pushing her easily out of the way. She looked up at me from the ground, shocked. She winced in slight pain. I knew that I wasn't that careful when I threw her out of the way.

"Anastasia, what is the meaning of this," she screamed.

"Huh?"

"Throwing me on the ground like that! I could have broken my back or something!" She was trying to stand. I held out a hand to help her. She ignored it and tried to get up on her own.

"I think I broke a hip!" She gasped in pain. I got on my knees and looked at the part she was holding. It was hardly even a bruise, never mind broken.

"You're fine, but you might want to put something cold on it, or maybe something hot¼ I'm not really sure¼ Maybe you should see the-" She cut me off.

"Now listen here young lady. Attacking a teacher is liable to get you suspended!" She was finally on her feet. Now what was I to say? That I saw you from the rooftop, flew off it, pushed you out of the way of a car that was going to crush you, and moved so fast that I was next to you and did not get hit by the crazy kid trying to purposefully run you over, and make it look like an accident? I'm not sure how well she'd take that¼ maybe if I left out the part of it being accidentally on purpose? Nah¼

"It was an accident," I said lamely. "I was trying to run after my friend's car¼ You see, they were going to pick me up but they didn't see me so I had to run after them. I'm sorry that I didn't see you there. I was just in so much of a hurry," I said in my most truthful, sorry voice. I knew that she bought it by the way her wrinkly face softened for a moment. Then she put her cold front up again.

"Even so, I am going to give you a detention for reckless behavior." She pulled out a pad and wrote something down. "Go to room eleven tomorrow."

"Tomorrow's Saturday," I put in hopefully.

"Oh¼ well then¼ I'll let you off with a warning, but if I ever see you doing something so¼"

"Reckless?" I asked helpfully. Oh, Captain Crunch, I sounded like Mason.

"Yes," she snapped and bent down to collect her books. I helped her and walked with her to her ugly little grey car and placed them in her back seat, which smelled like old socks and bad coconut air freshener.
