I lay stomach down atop Ryan's bed, pen in hand, writing down names as Ryan thought o them and shouted them out. They were names of people who would race and people who could be invited to watch and be trusted to keep it a secret. If anyone got wind of this, Ryan told me that it was possible for us to do jail time. I didn't know much about jail but it didn't seem like a very nice place.

"Ashton! Yes Ashton's got a nice mustang; he'd probably be itchin to race."

"Ashton," I repeated and wrote it down under all the others.

"And he's got a girlfriend, Katie, she's pretty solid, pretty chill. Put her down with him."

"Katie." I nodded. "So that's six racers, plus the family depending on how many of them are in." I bit my lip in thought. Trish would be in, but Skyler would want her out. Josh would say flat out no. Zack would never give up a chance to try and show Ryan up. Kevin would be in in a heartbeat. Dexter would come watch and sit awkwardly in a corner but secretly enjoy himself the whole time. I'd be driving with Ryan all for the sad little fact I was still having trouble getting my seatbelt on and off never mind the whole driving thing.

"Sounds about right. I'll call everyone tomorrow. What I need you to do is ask Josh, and if he says no then convince him not to tell anybody," Ryan said smiling at me.

"Why me?" I asked curiously.

"You really think he can say no to you." he smirked.

I sat with Riley, Stacey, Taylor and Trish in my bedroom with a few sheets of paper.

"So we got Ashton, Mark, Kendra, Steve, Kenny, and Allen plus Ryan, Josh, Zack, Kevin, and our very own Trish."

"I can't believe there are only two girls racing. Chicks gotta man up," Taylor snorted.

"I wanna see you race," Stacey laughed.

"Yeah me too. My little Toyota would most definitely do me proud." She stuck her tongue out at Stacey.

"Hey, if I can race a bug you guys can race anything," Trish teased.

"Your bug is sooped up the ass Trish," Stacey chuckled.

"True that," she nodded smirking a bit.

"I'm just concerned about safety, there's a reason street races are illegal." Riley muttered being Debbie downer.

"Thanks for killing it once again Riley." Taylor rolled her eyes.

"Hey I just don't want anyone getting hurt." She held up her hands defensively.
