I was sitting in bed. I looked at the small digital clock at my bedside. It read three fifteen. No, the sun was not in the sky. The sun is on the other side of the globe by this time waiting to peek over the trees. The time in which I would walk the halls of Green Field High were drawing nearer. Only four more hours¼ Only four more hours until I gained the knowledge that would make me more intelligent and only three more hours until I became Trish's dressup doll. Only four more hours until I would enter the legendary place of Gossip Girls and the other shows I had watched with Trish. Would school really be like that? Would there be cliquey girls who would not accept me? Trish had said had no girlfriends and that's why she was so pleased for me to come.

Chances were that if they didn't accept the beautiful Trish with her vibrant personality, stunning brown eyes and layered brown hair, why would they accept me? I was confused, clumsy, pale, on the shorter side to the Hunter Family, with far too curly hair that was untamable and fell into my far too blue eyes. I dressed just like Trish, not at my own request, but at hers.

I wouldn't have a problem if I had few friends in school. I had the love of almost the entire Hunter Family. Josh, was my best friend. We did almost everything together. We went to the pool together; we went to the mall together. We normally didn't end up buying anything, but tried things on, took pictures, ate at the food court and went to watch a movie on the big screen and ate lots of popcorn. We watched TV together, and sometimes we even slept together. He would wrap his warm arms around me and I would lay my head on his muscular chest and sleep soundly without any nightmares of the booming voice or of the slitting pain I'd suffered.

Trish was my best girlfriend. We shopped a lot and we watched Gossip Girls our favorite show, and watched what Josh called chick flicks, and sappy movies that made us cry. We went running around the property; she was much faster than me. I tripped over various hedges and rocks, but tried to keep up none the less. Ryan was my driving buddy and very close friend. We would go out when it was really dark and put the top down. He would drive as we threw caution to the wind and go so fast just to feel the danger, and we'd scream. He brought me to an amusement park and we went on the fastest most dangerous rides in the park. It was called Great Adventure, and it was. It really was.

Kevin treated me like his little sister, as he did with Trish. He always yelled at Zack when he made sexual comments and innuendos. I really didn't like Zack. He was conceited and perverted and selfish. And he always used up all the warm water and ate my Lucky Charms! Skyler was a sweetie and I could easily understand how Trish had fallen for his charm. I really didn't know Dexter very well. He was always locked in his room, and only came out for dinner and the occasional football game hosted by Kevin. I was normally on Josh's team. Kevin said he would pick me if I wasn't such a klutz but I know he didn't mean it maliciously . I understood completely. Ella and Stephen were the most loving, giving parental figures anyone could ask for.

Thinking about them kept my mind off school for another half hour or so. Sleep still did not seem on my side. My emblem was still a mystery to me but I had decided long ago that I would not spend hours trying to figure things out and I would just let the answers come to me when the time was right. The chime of the grandfather clock in the living room filled my ears as it chimed four o'clock. I got up out of bed and picked up my lilac pillow and trudged out my door toward Josh's. I opened the door and slipped in quietly. His walls were silver and he had posters up all over them. His floor was grayish silver and his bed was all black. He had a black desk and a few comfortable chairs and basically an empty book shelf. He wasn't exactly the reading type. He was snuggled under the clovers and he lay on his back like he always did. I placed my pillow down on the other side of the bed and climbed under the black blankets. I could feel the warmth radiating off his body. The Hunters kept the house cold so I normally walked around in a big sweatshirt while they walked about in t-shirts, wife beaters and tank tops. I wiggled over to him and lay my right cheek down on his chest. I felt his arms wrap around me and he placed a kiss on my forehead.
