All of the girls began asking about Trish's and my unexplained absence the previous day. We told them we decided to go with Stephen's father for a meeting in the city. Trish sat there muttering to herself under her breath. It took everything I had not to laugh. A paper ball hit me in the back of the head. I turned to see Mason looking in another direction smirking. I reached up automatically and caught another ball. I smirked at him and turned back around to read it.

"What's that?" Taylor, said intrigued.

"Myob Tay," Riley snapped.

"Stfu," Taylor said, turning around, miffed. Riley smiled before trapping Taylor in conversation.

"So what does it say?" Trish asked.

"Take Riley's advice and um... Mywb."

"Myob, you moron." She laughed turning to talk to Stacy. I unwrinkled the paper.

The note said "Sorry that I'm being so distant but my 'family' is watching me closer than usual... I feel like I'm a bug under a microscope..."

I gave him a sympathetic smile over my shoulder.

"Okay students! Everyone please be quiet!" The principal's voice rose above the talking of my class mates. I turned, hitting Taylor in the face with my hair. She glared daggers at me and I smiled. "I want to announce our fund-raiser!" Everyone groaned and I became more intrigued about this so called 'fund-raiser'.

"It's not going to be that bad!" The vice principal yelled.

"It's going to be... Well, we were going to let you guys pick..." The room broke out into excited chatter. "And the money goes to a week long trip to a ski lodge." The entire auditorium shook with applause. "Of course this is only for you juniors and seniors." The cheers were even louder. I tried to make sense of the situation. Even quiet Riley was on her feet. I wasn't surprised to see Trish, leaning over the side screaming.

"So, does anyone have any ideas?" Mr. Garson asked. A girl raised her hand. "Yes?"

"We could do an old fashioned car wash." Everyone booed. "Okay, okay I get it!" She sat back down.

"Anyone else?"

"We could have a soccer competition and charge admission." One boy suggested. "And you know, like have snacks, and all the hot girls in the school could cheerlead." All the boys hooted and hollered. The girls screamed. "You pig!"

"I think that one's a no," Mrs. Kiddins said.

"Yah think!" Stacey yelled out and the girls laughed while the boys scowled. Suddenly, I got an idea. I quickly raised my hand.

"Yes, you in the back," Mr. Garson pointed to me and I flushed. My friends stared at me in bewilderment. Trish nudged me to get up.
