Chapter 17: Anxious Stress

I slowly started to open my eyes, blinking them at a rapid pace and taking small shallow breaths. Slowly adapting to the dim lighting I finally managed to keep my eyes open all the way. Looking around my gaze fell on Thomas sitting beside me taping on his phone as if it were last thing his thumbs could do. His brow was frowned and I could the tension in his muscles - it seemed to radiate off him in waves, every bit of it being soaked up by my pours and my skin making me just as agitated. Feeling a little uncomfortable I shifted, rolling my shoulders back and squirming in the bed.

Thomas seemed to notice the movements and looked up from his phone, putting it down and giving me his full attention. He leaned in putting his elbows on the edge of the bed staring at me intently like I was some alien that walked out of a ufo. Now all I could feel was concern. Damn it what is happening to me.

"Go away!" I pushed at Thomas hoping he would get the message. He moved a little but seemed to bounce right back.

"I have sitting here waiting for hours for you to wake you and the first thing you say is 'Go away'?!" he said completely annoyed, his voice mimicked mine towards the end.

"I can feel what you feel and its annoying!" I pushed at him again and tried to pull myself up so that I was in a sitting position. Tom moved when I had pushed him and then helped me sit up, putting a pillow behind me and allow me to lean against the head board of the bed.

"Well, that's a good thing. Don't push it away or else you'll have to start all over again." He lectured me and he sat back i his chair.

I nodded my head repeatably, waving off his words and put my hands up to my head feeling it start to way heavy.

"What happened? The last thing I remembered was being on the boat." And hugging the railing, chucking a tantrum and screaming so that the entire pack could probably hear me.

"Well lets just say you tried to jump off, missed the landing and decided to go swimming with the fishes." He mocked me with a bright smile on his face.

"Well gee thanks for the concern brother."

"Oh relax, Your just lucky I was on the phone to your precious mate when it happened or else it would have been too late, Dean was busy tying off the boat he didn't realize you had fallen in."

"You on the phone to Carter, how is he? Harley?"

"Fine, their fine. And now so are you."He said smiling and relaxing in his chair. His gaze flickered down to my stomach and I felt a small amount of concern come back, radiating off of him.

"What's wrong?" I suddenly felt a little panicked. Looking down at my stomach I swallowed and quickly tried to focus - if I was starting to mind link with people - Tom - and feel his emotions then maybe, just maybe I could hear the heart beat.

I put my hands on my stomach and listened. Letting my eyes closed I tried to hear something, anything. I started to hear deep heavy breathing and the strong pound of a heart beat. Cracking one eye open I scrunched up my face and turned to Tom.

"What do you hear it?" he sounded egar.

"No, all I can hear is you. Get out." I narrowed my eyes at him. He rolled his eyes and sighed deeply and stormed out of the room.

Looking down at my stomach I tried to block out everything. Letting myself relax into the bed I muttered to myself praying that the baby was ok. "Please, be ok, come on, let me hear you."
