Chapter 23: Her Fight

Spinning around Carter saw me and his wolf immediately stood to attention, almost seeming to grow twice the size. The looks I was getting with the furious expressions from the other wolves made a shiver run up my spine and fear seep into my pours. Oh o. Undo, rewind, I take it back, go back to not knowing I'm here. Carter jumped up and came to stand in front of me, turning back so that he was facing the others. He started growling and baring his teeth as he backed up until he was standing just beside me. I saw the blood covering the circle floor and my stomach started to flip. How many had to die to let me go home? How many people had to die for me and now their families, they were basically the walking dead now all because of me.

The guilt I was feeling started to raise my heart rate and a pain started off in my stomach as my emotions ran wild. Pain, sadness, anger, guilt and just pure blind rage seemed to bubble up all at once setting me into an anxiety attack. My chest hurt and my heart was racing. I watched, stuck in place as the other wolves started to move into a line, some turning into their wolf forms and others just clenched their fists at their sides. Dean walked through the thick of the others and moved to stand in front of us, his green eyes blazing. Giving a quick nod he turned to face the others and took up a place next to me, I stared at him in shock unable to truly comprehend what was happening at the moment but he just smiled reassuringly at me.

My heart started to hurt in my chest and my hands started to shake. I didn't know what was happening inside my body or outside the only thing I knew for sure was that my body ached.

As if in a split second everything irrupted. The first line of alphas and betas jumped into the air and shifted, with their jaws snapping they soon meet with the wolves from my pack and Thomas as they came around to defend me. The growls and howls of pain began to echo through my ears like a piercing siren or a blow horn going off right by ear, I screamed out and dropped in pain as my ear ache increased making tears begin to flow from eyes. Carter turned back to face me and answer my cries but it was a fatal mistake as another wolf bit into his neck making a loud howl escape him.

My body started to shake but the sound of Carter's cry sent a sharp pain through me, my nerves burning like someone had just poured liquid fire into my veins. My muscles started to ache and my body gave way even more making me completely collapse on the floor and double over in pain, my bones became stiff and ridged before my legs cracked sending a sharp pain spread through my entire body. I looked up for a moment as the pain continued and my cries got louder, Carter was fighting two wolves but the bite in his neck and other battle wounds he had sustained kept the blood flowing and his wolf started to stumble making him turn a little off balance - although that didn't stop his jaw from snapping.

Thomas had long since changed into his wolf form and was trying to get to me, his large light grey - almost white wolf - was pushing between others, his eyes burned into as he reacted to my cries. I closed my eyes unable to see the blood shed and deal with the pain anymore. I was waiting to blackout from the pain, I let my body go limp and relaxed down into the ground, tuning out the fighting and cries of pain I gave into the darkness. This was a different sort of black out and the darkness wasn't at all dark. The pain slowly started to subside and I opened my eyes as the sounds of everything started to flow through my ears a little quicker now, the sounds of birds chirping passed through quickly as the howls and growls of the other wolves lingered. Keeping my eyes closed I stood up but felt my posture shift a little as I stood. Taking a deep breath a growl escaped me as I opened my eyes and saw the fight play out in front of me. The fight shifted through my vision like a movie reel, breaking it down as I shifted through the images and focusing on Thomas and Carter.

Thomas looked at me and the shock was clear in his eyes but he was okay and that is all I focused on. Seeing Carter struggling with the two wolves I lowered myself down and growled deeply before charging towards them. As Carter lost his footing and stumbled back, slipping, the two wolves moved in instantly, their jaws snapping as they moved in for the kill. Not thinking about what I was doing I broke out into a run and pounced into the air growling and landing on the two wolves that were snapping at Carter. They fell from my weight, one of them quickly turned and started snapping at me while the other still had their attention on Carter. I pushed my weight back and bumped into the second wolf as the first one started coming at me. With both their attention on me Carter's jaw turned and snapped at the second wolf, gripping his jaw and pulling at his jugular creating a spray of deep red blood everywhere. I flinched at the loud whimper from the second wolf just as the first one lunged at me, he grabbed my right front leg in his jaw and bit down, snapping the tendon in two making me cry out once more. Finding myself I pulled back on my now snapped leg, dragging my attackers jaw along with me and bringing him closer. Taking advantage of his long hold on me I moved in and bit down on his neck ripping at the flesh making a warm spray of blood enter my mouth, I quickly recoiled at the taste on my sensitive tongue and pulled back gagging and dry heaving at the warm metal taste of blood in my mouth. The cry of the first wolf caught me by surprise and I soon turned my attention back to see Carter standing next to me nudging me as I shook the taste from my mouth.
