a compliment.

it wasn't technically a compliment but y/n had taken it as one. she just smiled and swayed her head. she waited for the perfect moment. killua seemed to be losing his grip, "uhh, gon?" he looked at his friend, whom was concentrating.
"now!" gon suddenly yelled and everyone let go. unconsciously, y/n had let go. she tucked in her legs and reached for the nearest egg. with a simple rip noise, it came off from the other eggs and simultaneously, the upwind lifted them all. she tucked the egg into her chest, my legs protecting each side of the egg.
she landed on her feet and went to boil the egg. while waiting for the egg to be done, she decided to bug killua, what else? "killuaaa!" she yelled and waved to killua. he turned to her voice and hid behind gon.
she stopped in front of gon, giving him a trademark smile and wave. she bent down and looked behind gon. killua at the same time had moved to gon's left side. y/n stood back up straight and laughed. she ran after killua, who was trying to run away from her. it turned to a cat and mouse chase, with y/n being the cat of course.
she stuck her arms out, to widen her reach and giggled. gon's head attempted to follow them, moving constantly left to right. killua spotted kurapika and leorio, he took the chance and ran to hide behind them.
y/n just stopped in front of gon, she giggled, putting a hand to her lips. she gave gon a hug, which was so fast, gon didn't know how to react. his arms hovered around y/n's hip as she hugged around his neck.
"i'll just play with gon instead then!" she rocked their bodies back and forth. killua narrowed his eyes at me. and in a flash, he took gon and went back to hiding behind kurapika and leorio with gon by his side.
she crossed her arms and approached the duo. "ahh! what will i ever do!" y/n put the back of her hand to my forehead and fell backwards. luckily, kurapika caught me in his arms. y/n opened an eye and winked toward him. kurapika's cheeks were painted with a light blush.
y/n stood up straight again and gave kurapika a hug. when she did, she made eye contact with killua. she put her finger under her eye and pulled down. "at least kurapika plays with me." killua and y/n kept making faces at each other until kurapika pulled away from their hug.
y/n put her hands behind her and smiled with her eyes closed. she went back to the large pot of boiling water and received an egg. she scooped a spoonful and slipped it into her mouth. it had a certain, flavor. it was unfamiliar, of course. but, tantalizing.
she finished it within minutes, she wanted more. the first person she saw was killua. "hey! killua!" she ran toward with her spoon behind her back. killua looked up from his egg, he hummed in response. y/n swayed closer and killua got seeming more suspicious. y/n just smiled and tilted her head to the side.
she whipped her spoon out and attempted to grab some of his egg. though, killua was much faster than her and moved to the side. y/n stumbled forward. she giggled, and tried again and killua just turned to the side.
y/n attempted a few more times, her eyes narrowed. then she got an idea, a light bulb lighting up in her head. she took her finger and traced along killua's jawline (her signature move). he became flustered, a small, minuscule blush on his cheeks.
y/n took advantage of the moment and got a scoop of his egg. killua growled lightly out of anger. y/n giggled and walked away, kicking her legs behind her. back onto the airship, she looked across the night sky once again.
she didn't really need sleep, so she stayed up most days. she heard footsteps echo throughout the hall and she turned to whom was walking. "hey y/n!" gon called out to her. she smiled and waved toward him.
gon sat next to her and looked out the window along with her. "what are you doing out here this late? shouldn't you be sleeping?" gon asked. y/n shook her head, "no need!" she flicked out her hands with her palms out.
gon tilted his head and was about to ask when killua came along. 'i couldn't hear his footsteps.' y/n thought. she smiled again, waving at the boy innocently. he seemed to be sort of upset about something.
y/n thought it might have been the fact she ate some of his egg. killua sat next to gon and he rested his chin on his hand. there was a certain, vibe, in the air. it made it quite hard to breathe, for gon at least.
the awkwardness was killing him, so he decided to ask about them. "where are your parents?" gon asked looking toward the both of us. i decided to wait for killua's answer. "they're alive, probably." killua said and slightly smiled. "what do they do?" gon asked while y/n just looked toward the two for answers.
"they're assassins." killua stated as if it were nothing. "really?" y/n asked and gon said, "huh? both of them?" killua gave a small chuckle, "that's your guy's reaction's?" y/n clasped her hands together, putting them into her lap.
she wanted to know more, he seemed, interesting, at the very least. "people only like me because they can't tell if i'm serious or not." killua said. killua continued to go on about his family, expressing his obvious annoyance toward them.
he stated how he wanted to hunt down his own family and went back to a neutral state. "what about you, y/n?" killua asked. "aww! you're curious about me! you're so sweet!" y/n put her clasped hands up to her cheek and closed her eyes.
after a moment it went silent, the two expected an answer from her. she paused and put her hands down, "well, i think they're alive.. i wouldn't care to know anyways." y/n shrugged and looked up to see their reactions.
"what do you mean?" gon asked. "ahh.. i just don't care!" y/n gave a smile and avoided the question. it was clear she was playing coy, killua could tell. but why? "well, what about you gon?" y/n asked.
gon of course was willing to explain his situation with his father and becoming a hunter. "sounds great!" y/n commented. "well, you two better get off to bed soon! it's late!" y/n said cheerfully. she waved them off and they got up to leave.
