he stayed.

killua had waited until gon had left and stayed behind to observe y/n. she didn't do much, she sat and watched out the window. occasionally her feet brushed against the ground. killua decided he had spent enough time just watching her.

he didn't understand it, she was such a nuisance to him. but he wanted to know more, maybe because she didn't want to say? he couldn't tell, but he approached her again and sat next to her as she watched the passing clouds.

she turned to him, smiled, and looked back to the sky. "tell me." he stated out the blue. she turned to him, "hmm?" "tell me, why did you avoid the question?" y/n just stared and killua, dumbfounded at the fact he noticed.

"what do you mean?" she asked, pretending to not know. "you don't need to pretend. you can just be real, you know?" killua turned to her also. they stared into each others eyes, y/n admired all of his features.

even when it wasn't the time to, "i still don't understand, killua." she tilted her head and smiled innocently. "you know what i'm talking about.." killua started to become agitated due to y/n's stubbornness.

she shook her head, "no idea!" "damn it y/n!" killua yelled, all she did was stare in shock. her mouth shaped into a small 'o' "why can't you tell me? i don't understand! just tell me! am i not your friend?" killua stood up out of anger.

y/n never had really considered him, gon, kurapika, or even leorio a friend. she hadn't really thought of it like that. "hmm... i suppose!" she put up jazz hands and smiled. killua pushed her hands down slowly, "stop faking it, y/n.." he had calmed down in a matter of seconds.

"just tell me.. i'm sure you want to tell someone.." killua looked up at her, "i care for you, no matter how much i don't want to.  i do!" killua out of anger, confusion, and unawareness of her thoughts, said whatever straight from the heart.

"well.. thank you for caring for me!" she jumped up and wrapped him into a hug. she rocked them back and forth, "you're such a baby! can i call you baby?" killua struggled to get out of her grip, "i'm not a baby! don't call me baby either, idiot!" he became extremely flustered just at her words.

she held her head back, "let's go find a bathroom, then bend me over and you can-" killua groaned out of disgust. "y/n! let go of me!" y/n released him from the (rather one-sided) hug. "stop being a flirt!"

y/n tapped her chin and looked up, she flicked her palms out, "i could, but why would i want to?" killua groaned again, he rubbed the back of his neck, "you're such a pain." y/n giggled and grabbed his arm.

"i'm glad you think so!" she said playfully. soon enough, the airship had landed and y/n was again by herself. killua had left soon after they talked and she just walked around the halls to pass time.

the trick tower, the tall tower amazed y/n. she adored it's height and the mystery it held. they had 72 hours to reach the bottom of the tower, and if they didn't, it meant failure. y/n walked around the top of the tower, searching for a way inside.

'well, if nothing is on top, there must be something on the floor!' she took her foot and tapped around. making it seem as if she were getting impatient, but in reality, she was searching to get inside.

she put her foot onto a tile and it slightly caved in. she looked around her and it seemed everyone was too preoccupied by their own things. so, she put her full weight onto it. she fell onto her knees and hands when she hit the cold floor.

she lightly winced, "damn.." she looked up and saw a small podium with instructions. 'make your way though this maze.' it seemed simple enough, under the instructions was a stopwatch. she took the only one and attached it onto her wrist.

she watched as the seconds counted down. '72 hours.. one maze, and a step closer to my license!' she clasped her hands and jumped up. the sound of a door opening interrupting her. she turned around and walked through the door.

she ran into two choices, right or left? she looked at both hallways, which looked the same. 'i'll go left.' she thought and walked to her left. after that, the opening behind her closed by an iron door.

"i see.." she giggled and looked in front of her. she twirled around to keep herself entertained. she then stopped at an intersection of hallways. her eyes narrowed at her choices, she closed her eyes and spun around. when she opened them, she walked to the nearest choice. again, an iron door closing behind her.

she skipped along until her path was blocked by someone wearing a cloak. she stopped, then she heard shackles fall to the ground after a small beep noise. the person tore off their cloak, revealing a large muscular man.

"you have to fight me to pass!" the man exclaimed, pointing to himself with his thumb. "ahh! i see!" she pressed her hands together. "let's do that then! i don't want to waste time here!" she gave a smile, making the man angry.

he came up with an idea, "just so you know, i'm in prison because of voluntary murder, serial killings, and first degree murder." he rolled up his sleeves, attempting to scare y/n. "ahh, is that something to boast about?" she put a finger to her mouth. he growled lighly, getting annoyed by y/n's seemingly cocky attitude.

"let's just get this over with." y/n put her hands behind her back. "if you say so." the man got into a fighting stance and charged at y/n. he launched a punch toward her, but she turned to the side, managing to block the punch.

"this seems like it'll be fun!" y/n commented.
