Tears

Maia’s POV

“Hey it’s me, wanna hang out?

“Sure”

“Okay, meet us at the movie theater”

“Okay, Ill be there in 15 minutes, bye.”

Us? Now there are more people coming. Great. I quickly threw on a plaid   shirt and jeans with holes in it. I ran to the door and grabbed my Converse. I slipped them on and ran past Sadie. I grabbed my phone and keys and zipped out the door. I locked it and ran to the car which was parked out in front. I backed up and sped off to the movie theater.

 

Cierra’s POV

“Hey you made it” I said speaking to Maia

“Of course I made it”

“We are just waiting on Jake and David now”

“Okay”

We sat down on a bench waiting for them to get here.

“Hey guys” Jake said finally arriving.

“Hey where’s David” Maia said quickly.

“I don’t know, he texted me he was on his way”

“Maybe it’s just traffic” I said.

Me and Maia sat back down and Jake took a seat next to me.

Then a car arrived.

 

Maia’s POV

David then had walked out of the car.

“Hey guys sorry I’m late”

Then someone had exited out of Davids car. I instantly knew who it was. Ashley. She actually had the nerve to walk over to me.

“Hey sorry we are a little late aren't we?” she said.

“Yeah, you are late.” I said

“What are we even seeing” Jake said

“If I stay” Cierra said

“Great, another chick flick”

“Lets get going” I said walking over to the ticket vendor.

I got my ticket and waited for everyone else to get theirs. I glanced at David. He was actually paying for her ticket. She was really setting me off now. I watched her latch onto David, squeezing his arm. I was so done with this. Me and Cierra chased to the snack bar to grab the best ones while Jake, David, and Ashley went to get good seats. Me and Cierra came back with the most junk food you could get. I guess we were too late because of David and Ashley, to get a good seat so we had to sit on the right side of the theater. Ashley sat on the very end, then David, then me, then Cierra, than Jake. After the movie started, I tried to ignore the fact that David’s arm was around Ashley. I couldn’t take it anymore. I remember when he used to do it to me. But he found someone else and I couldn’t take it so I ran out of the screening area. Tears were streaming down my face. I grabbed napkins and wiped them away so no one would notice, but it had smeared my mascara. I ran to the bathroom to clean up when someone entered.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, Cierra I’m fine”

“No you aren’t. What is it?”

“Dashley”

“What the heck is Dashley?!”

“David and Ashley. Fans have recently been commenting on my Instagram about them together. How they just started dating and how I feel about it.”

“How do you feel about it?”

“I miss him”

“Miss him?”

“I miss the way he used to treat me. The way we would text each other no matter what time of day. How he knew exactly what I would get at Starbucks and he would buy it for me everytime. But now he buys movie tickets for Ashley I guess”

“Maia”

“Don’t Cierra, it’s too late. He found someone.” Tears started coming again.

“C’mon lets get you cleaned up” she said wiping my face with a paper towel.

She handed me her mascara and pulled me into a hug.

“He’ll come back around to you in no time”

“Thank you” I said and we both walked back to the screening area.

We sat back in our seats. Squeezing each others hands. Throughout the movie our hands let go, moving them into the popcorn then to our mouths. Davids hand reached for the popcorn. And so did mine. His hand brushed against mine. Electricity shot through my hand, and down my spine. I smiled. After the movie was over we all gathered at the front to say goodbye.

“I guess that movie wasn’t that bad” Jake said

“Dude I saw you tearing up at the end” David said

“I was not!” Jake said

“Maia you were tearing up too” David said with a smile

“I was not!” I said punching him in the arm

“Did too! When you left in the middle of the movie”

“Oh yeah, okay maybe a little” I said and glanced at Cierra. She smiled at me and we hugged goodbye.

“Bye guys!” Jake said leaving

“Bye” Cierra waved as she walked to her car

“Bye Maia” David said

“Bye David” I smiled

He got in the car as Ashley followed. I went and sat in my car when I got a text.

David- ‘Today was fun! Lets do it again soon.’

I smiled and drove home to Sadie.
