Everyone was partying after Zuko's coronation.  Everyone, everywhere, from every nation came together and celebrated the end of the 100 year war.

They celebrated Avatar Aang. My Aang.

The streets were full of smiling faces as soldiers returned home to their families. There was hope for a new world, and joy in the air.

We didn't party too much. We were all exhausted. Zuko, after a particularly long meeting with Aang and his advisors, suggested we should take a trip to Ba Sing Se and visit Iroh. Everyone eagerly agreed.

This is it, Aang will get a break. I can finally have just  one moment alone with him and tell him.

It wasn't a long journey, but it took longer than usual as Appa was carrying a few more guests than normal.

We arrived in a day. Upon arrival, we were gifted the finest dresses from the finest of the Ba Sing Se seamstresses as a welcome and a thank you.

I received a beautiful green kimono and a lovely pink flower to decorate my hair.

As I was putting it on, all I could think of is Aang seeing me in it. I wonder what he'll think. Will he like it? I hope he likes it. I remember the first time we were in Ba Sing Se and Toph and I dressed up to enter the palace. Aang told me I looked beautiful when he first saw me, and every other time he saw me that day, he blushed. I blushed too, thinking about it. I hope he has the same reaction now.

After I finished changing, I came out into the living area where everyone was enjoying a cup of Iroh's famous tea. Suki was the first to see me.

"Wow, Katara! You look great!" She said and everyone in the room turned to look at me.

"You look lovely Katara," Zuko commented.

"The dress is nice," added Mai.

"Eh, you look fine," Sokka said before turning back to whatever he was doing on the parchment in front of him.

"You've looked better." Toph jokes, which made the whole room laugh.

I wasn't paying attention to any of their comments. Aang had my full attention.

He hadn't taken his eyes off me since I entered the room. They slyly glazed up and down my body, his face turning a deep shade of red, which, in turn, made me go a deeper shade of red. He put his hand behind his head as he swallowed awkwardly before he gained his composure.  He looked me in the eyes, and smiled.

"You look beautiful, Katara." he said sincerely and softly, almost at a whisper. His eyes were warm, and I knew he meant it.

He thinks I look beautiful! I blushed even harder when he said this, so I looked away, embarrassed. I still felt his eyes on me, and when I looked back, they were still as warm as ever. I giggled nervously.

"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself." He had decided not to wear the clothes he was gifted and remained in his Air Nomad attire from the fire nation, so my comment kind of came of as a joke. But I meant it. He was very, very handsome.

He laughed. " I'm just a simple Monk. No need for all the silly expenses and gifts."

I frowned.

He grew flustered and quickly corrected himself. "Not that you look silly! That's not what I meant! I-"

I let out a loud laugh, and he laughed with me. It's so cute when he gets like this. After the laughter subsided, he looked up at me with his warm eyes again.

"You look beautiful, Katara. You really do." He said with all the sincerity in the world. I blushed again.

Before I could say anything, Momo jumped on his lap and Aang created an air ball to play with the fellow air bender.

I went over to the table that Mai and Suki were sitting at and joined them. I didn't add much to the conversation, my attention was on the boy across the room from me, playing with a lemur. How do I get him alone? I need to talk to him.

Zuko walked over and offered us tea as Iroh played the Tsuki horn. "Zuko, stop moving!", yelled Sokka.

Apparently he was painting us to 'capture the moment', which is a sweet sentiment, except he game me Momo's ears, which slightly offended me.
Everyone else gathered around Sokka and his 'painting' to critique it. Everyone, except Aang. When I looked up, he was no longer playing with Momo, but instead walking to the balcony.

This is it. My chance.
