I don't remember falling asleep, but when I woke up, I was in bed.

I remember cozying into Aang's arms and chest, yawning at his warmth. Did I fall asleep on him? Did he carry me to bed? Everyone had gone to sleep before us as we stayed up pretty late, so it must've been him. I blushed at the thought.

I sit up and stretch. It's impossible to miss how big my bed is. Its nearly as big as the one from the palace, it seems to stretch for miles. It gets so lonely.

I preferred it when we slept outside on Appa. Aang and I would always be close to each other, if I stretched my hand I could touch him. But he's so far away now. I wish he would've stayed with me last night.

I get up and prepare for the day. I don't really have plans for today, just to relax and enjoy my first day as Aang's girlfriend.

I'm Aang's girlfriend! Aang is my boyfriend! It still feels surreal. But it's so right.

After I'm dressed, I leave my room and go to the dining room to find out I had apparently slept in as everyone had already settled down and started breakfast. I see Aang with an empty seat next to him.

A burst of nerves suddenly hits me. How do I greet Aang now that I'm his girlfriend? Do I kiss him on the cheek? On the lips? If we were alone I would, but everyone's here. What do I say to him?

"Katara! What are you doing over there, come sit. Hurry, before Sokka finishes all the food!" Aang said, tapping the seat next to him as soon as he noticed me in the doorway.

Of course I was being silly and over thinking. He greets me with a smile and I shuffle closer to him. "Good morning, sweetie," I say and kiss his cheeks. I blush hard. Sweetie? What was that about?

"Sweetie? That's new." Aang says with a laugh as he grabs me my plate. He turns to see my embarrassed and flushed face and quickly added, "I like it! Good morning to you too, sweetie."

My embarrassment turns to a chuckle as I beam at him.

"Can you guys please be less gross?? Please?? I am trying to enjoy my meal," Sokka says and I shoot him a glare that shuts him up.

We are last two at the table, unsurprisingly. It takes us minutes to get the chopsticks from our hands too our mouths as we are too busy talking to each other.

When we are finally finished eating, we take our plates to the basin. I wash them and he dries them as we continue talking about everything and nothing.

I catch him stealing glances my way and I smirk. He does the same when he notices my eyes lingering for a little too long.

We're just cleaning the dishes, but I'm having fun. He makes everything fun. I think about how nice it would be for us to do this everyday. It's so silly, something as simple as washing the dishes with Aang making me this happy.

I glance at him again and he has a calm smile on his face, I can tell he's enjoying this too.

"How did you sleep last night? You were so tired yesterday, I hope you're not sick.."

"Im not sick! Of course I was tired yesterday, we stayed up for hours after the sunset!"

"No... I stayed up for hours after the sunset. You fell asleep way too quickly. You really had me asking myself how boring I was to make you fall asleep!"

I giggled at this and he joined with a chuckle. "Thank you for taking me back to bed, by the way.." I said, a bit more seriously, through a slight blush. I take his hand in mine.

Aang blushes too. "No problem," he says, then he kisses my cheek.

I lead him away from the now completed dishes and onto the balcony. I love being out here with him, staring at the sky together. "I like it here." He breathes out. He puts his arm around me and holds me tightly.

"I know... Ba Sing Se is such a beautiful city."

"I meant I like it with you," He chuckled softly. "I don't really care where we are, I just like being with you, Katara." He looks at me lovingly, with his stormy gray eyes.

"I like being here with you too."

"Ba Sing Se is beautiful. I wish I could stay here longer with you. Zuko told me this morning there's a meeting we have to go to in three weeks." He suddenly looked so tired and I could see the dread on his face.

"It's okay, we'll just have to make the most of these three weeks before we go back to the fire nation."

"You don't have to come. I know it's not fun for you at the palace and I'm always busy. You can stay here with everyone else."

"Of course I'm coming with you, don't be stupid! I don't care where we are either, I just want to be with you."

He scanned my face. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! Don't ask me again. Of course I would come with you."

His face broke out into an infectious grin. He grabbed my face and pushed his lips against mine. I eagerly returned the kiss, feeling his smile against my lips, causing me to giggle. When we pulled away, he put his forehead against mine, his smile soft now.

"Thank you, Katara. Have I told you that you're the best girlfriend ever?"

"You can mention it more," I say before reconnecting our lips.

"Let's have the best three weeks of our lives." Aang said, taking my hand and leading me back into the house. "So, what do you want to do today?"
