“How I wish the hero within me could save me from drowning.”
All that matters is the hero within us. The one who comes out a little bit late. The one who can at least save ourselves from drowning. The one whom we can rely on most of the time. The one who’s real enough to save others with a pure heart. That someone who helps even without people’s recognition. That someone whom people thinks nasty but actually acts very decent and who’s more willing to save others. Most of the time, they are the real heroes. You know what? I’ve known people who act religious but they’re the first one to discriminate. And, I’ve also known people who identified themselves as non-religious but truly act with morality. Yes, we have heroes within; it’s either a counterfeit or a real one. Let’s just say it all depends whom we have chosen to be.
Aside from having heroes within, we also have villains. The very reason why we are drowning. The one who consumed us with unnecessary thoughts, anxiousness, troubles and fears. The one that’s keeping us empty, lonely and a prisoner of our own selves. But if the hero within ourselves comes out, it will surely be tamed. This is what we call balance. The balance between the good and evil. The two sides of the coin.
