The Christmas break had finally come around and Harry was on his way home on the Hogwarts Express.
With Ginny tucked under his arm, the young couple enjoyed the quiet ride back home.
Ginny was spending the holidays with the Potter's, since her parents decided to visit her brother Charlie in Romania, and the other Weasley's decided to stay at Hogwarts, Ron only by the persuasion of Hermione, though the both of them were coming Christmas Eve and Day.
Harry was excited to go home and to see his brother and sister, and his parents too of course.
As they sat in silence awaiting their arrival to King's Cross Station, where James and Lily and the twins were waiting for them. Harry couldn't help but think about the gift he had gotten for Ginny, a beautiful heart necklace with a small diamond in the middle.
He didn't know what she had for him, but knew she had gotten him something even though he told her multiple times he didn't need anything, and she needn't waste her money on him.

*At the train station*

Harry gently shook Ginny as people started getting off the train.
"Come on love it's time to go." he whispered.
"Ugh! Five more minutes." she groaned. Harry chuckled, picking her up bridal style her eyes shot open.
"Harry!" She exclaimed, giving him a sharp smack on his chest.
Harry just laughed harder.
"Put me down you big oaf!" She giggled. Harry pouted and pretended to be offended by her comment, and set her down.
Laughing the couple walked hand and hand of the train in search of the Potter's. Just as they made it to the front of the train Harry spotted his mothers fiery red hair, he smiled tugging Ginny that way.

"Harry!" The twins screamed as he was tackled. He laughed and fell back dramatically, sending the twins in a fit of giggles.

"Well hello to you too." he laughed.
After the small sibling reunion, Harry greeted his parents and they were on their way back to Potter Manor.

"How have you been Ginny?" Lily asked as they began to unpack.
"I've been good Mrs. Potter." she replied with a smile.
Lily smiled and said. "How many times do I have to tell you to call me Lily or mum? You're family dear." She chuckled.
Ginny blushed violently.
"Sorry Mum."
"So what have you gotten Harry for Christmas?" Lily asked.
Ginny smiled, her eyes brightening.
"I got him a puppy!" She squealed happily. Lily looked completely shocked.
"A puppy?" She asked in a small voice.
"Yes. The little Akita that has been in the store in Diagon Ally, he always stopped to give it something and he just loved it, but couldn't get it because he was in school. I hope he loves it."

Although Lily was a little disgruntled about having another animal live under her roof she couldn't help but smile.
"Where is...it?" She asked not knowing if it was a girl or boy.
"Ron's going to bring him Christmas Eve. He's babysitting till then." She laughed.

"Alright well I'll leave you to unpack your things, Harry is right across the hall from you so if you need anything he's over there. Other than that make yourself at home sweetie." Lily said warmly.
"Thanks." Ginny said giving her a hug.

*Dinner*

As they all say down to dinner that night, it was all but gloomy. Magical little salt & pepper shakers floating around, Harrison and Haven giggling, James telling stories about his school days, Lily rolling her eyes in amusement, and Harry staring at Ginny in awe. The food was amazing. No doubt Lily Potter had a welcome home feast for Harry, and Ginny just made her go an extra mile. From chicken to glistening ham, and other varieties of meat, mashed potatoes, lots of vegetables and pastes of all varieties, she'd even placed a bowl of chocolate frogs for the twins to enjoy.
