Mercy POV
"Bella, you are in this with him too!" I accused, with tears flowing down my face.
"You too dey mumu yourself! (You are too gullible)" She smacked Baba on the head with a stick. The stick had traces of died blood.
"Watch am, make I go house come and you want to give her the phone. Mugu!" This earned Baba another smack to his head. (You nearly gave her the phone in my absence when I told you to just watch over her.You are an idiot!)
"If I no come early like by now she don dupe you!" (If I hadn't come earlier, should would have fooled you!) Smack again, "you be big mumu!" (You are a big fool) It looks like the same stick that was used to knock me out.
"Arh Enough now!" He yell back, moving away from her reach and rubbing his head.
Bisi's POV
My breathe got caught in my throat at sight of mother being tied to a chair and I nearly fainted at the sight of culprits, it was Baba and Bella. The adage that's goes 'If an insect will bite you then it's from your cloth' is indeed true. Her head was bleeding and those two morons did nothing about it. She kept wincing in pain as she watch those two morons bickering. It was so heartbreaking and sad to see how people you trust tend to stab you in the back when you least expected it. These two nobodies that we had picked from the village, polished them and provided employment, had to bite the same hand that fed them.
Dede whispered, "You know I'm not surprised they are the ones behind this!" She said with disgust when she saw the horrid look that drew my face.
"Well I am!" I scoffed, "had to pinch my arm twice incase this was a dream." I whispered back.We hid outside, behind the open windows since Dede had refused to go in. She believes it could be dangerous since Baba could be armed.
Baba was the closest thing to a brother for Mum. Apart from Dede, he knows half of mum's secret. Mother was protective of him even when he did something bad. She goes everywhere with baba except work. She had seen a younger brother in him yet he was the first to betray her after everything she did for him. Mum planned to marry Baba and Bella and help with all the wedding expenses before Linda's blackmail ruined the plan. She was even the first to know that Babs and Bella were having an affair before dad and I. She said if they married, they would no longer have to hide their relationship as if it was a dirty thing. They ruined their own wedding preparations.
I was so eager to get here early so that I could pull Linda's hair and eyes out only for me to see it was Baba and Bella. It was unbelievable. I felt bile at the back of my throat. I robbed my eyes twice to be certain since I wasn't sure if the pinch had woke me up from my slumber. What baffles me is how could those two pull this off. Their ant sized brains could not have come up with this idea unless someone was the real mastermind. Could it be that man? Is this his way of having his revenge on Dad?
Naa!
He's too smart besides he seems highly intelligent and not a coward who sends dimwits to do his dirty bidding, so that rules him out. I'm certain the mastermind is a woman. A not so smart woman who is equally as stupid as those two!
Linda!
The name alone fuels my anger. I swear I will kill her with my bare hands if I were to set eyes on her. I hope she comes out from her hiding hole. She can't do all the dirty work so she allied herself with these two morons. I've always known Baba to be greedy but Bella, I thought was wise. I terribly regret siding with mother when Dad wanted to fire them.
