Joseph's Pov

I couldn't get out of my bed due to yesternight incident.It was complete chaos.I had sores and belt marks all over.While in foreign countries parents can't lay a finger on their children,in Africa its different they can beat you black and blue and if the child attempts to go to police station even the policeman would beat the child inaddition all in the name of discipline.I was covered in bruises.
Since Emma hasn't come to wake me up I am sure he's in the same predicament this morning.

Emmanuel's Pov

"Ouch!Ouch!Ouch".I moan in pain.
My mother was at my bed with a bucket of hot water and a towel.She was massaging my swollen body parts with the hot towel.
Joseph hadn't come to wake me up therefore it means he can't get out of bed.My face was practically disfigured,swollen red eyes,bruised cheeks,a cut on my forehead and a swollen lips like the size of a pig's mouth.

"Ouch! Mama please be gentle".I moaned in pain.

"Shut up! Your little brother is die for inside his room. I for hurry up".Mum smirked.

"Mum the way you are doing it is painful.Please be gentle".I pleaded.

"See your mouth you take the beg me.Go beg your Papa".She remarked.

"I won't beg that man after what he did to me".I noted clearly.

My door opened slowly and Joseph appeared.He was crawling on the floor.Mum rushed to his aid and helped him out.I noticed his feet and legs were bruised and swollen.Mum helped him to my bed and lay him down beside me.My bed was huge enough to contain us both.She supported Joseph's head with a pillow.

"You look worse than me".I teased.

"You have no idea how I managed to crawl here with all the pain I was feeling."Joseph smirked.

"Make I go change the hot water.When is back then I press press Joseph body".She said leaving the room.

"I can't believe our step siblings are this wicked and heartless.They joined that man to do this to us.Even Ada and Emeka were part."I remarked with watery eyes.

"Leave them especially Ada and Emeka as soon as we get well we will deal with all of them".Joseph noted with anger.

"Joseph sometimes I don't understand what goes on in your head.Yesterday you were scared and wanted to abort the mission and now you want revenge.See your bruised lips,it still want vengeance".I said with bewilderment.

"That was yesterday and today is another day.See how terrible we look.When I get well I will deal with all of them one by one".Joseph spat in anger.

"I promise.."

"You promise is do what Joseph?" Mum questioned, cutting him off.

"Mum see what they did to your children".Joseph noted annoyed.

"My children they deserve am.You people still have the mouth to talk.You people are lucky them no kill you two".Mum rebuked.

She crossed over to Joseph side, pulled the chair and sat down.She unbuttoned Joseph shirt.She soaked the towel in bucket of hot water then she squeezed the water out and placed it on the swollen part of his chest.

"Ouch!Eish!Ouch!"Joseph groan in pain.

"Keep quiet!next time go put leaves inside your Papa baf water."She eyed Joseph.

"Arh!Ouch! Mama the water is too hot. Ouch!".Joseph pleaded.

"Idiots tomorrow too again make you two do your Papa wicked".She scolded.
