The closer they came, the more the contents of my stomach rise up. My nerves was everywhere, my heart wasn't handling the panic very well. I was too young to die especially when I have not set my eyes on my unborn children and married off my daughters. Four faces came into view with only one familiar face. I calm my nerves and pushed aside my fears. I had a confident demeanor mask on. My eyes search through the crowd of people to see any sign of the policemen in disguise but I could not make out any of them from the crowd. This would have been the perfect time to for them to attack.
" Mr Ango! " One of the men acknowledged, they all seem to be in their mid-twenties.
" I guess you are the one I spoke on phone with; the leader right' I ask rhetorically, he gave a nod in response. He wasn't even looking at me, his eyes were focused on the bag I was holding.
Thief!
" I can see you have my money and I brought your son as promise." He stated.
" Now hand over the money and I can give your son back," he muttered.
" No! let my son come to me first before I hand over the money." I stated confidently.
" Mr Ango, it seems you have trust issues but don't worry, I am a man of my word." He pushed Joseph forward who looked too calm for a boy who was kidnapped.
Where are those good for nothing policemen, they should appear now before things gets out of hand.
" Joseph, go to your father so that I can have my money," he ordered. Joseph came to stand by my side and the leader stretched his hand for the money.
Money draining bastards! Money suckers! Damn those policemen.
" Mr Ango, hand over the money. You don't want to waste my time." He warned.
Sighing in defeat," here is your money." I gave him the bag.
He open the bag and peeped in, " I must say I am proud of you. I expected a man of your caliber to contact the police but you didn't. You have proven to value your son's life." He smirked.
" Of course, I.... ,Never mind." I stopped my self from revealing the truth.
Where are those policemen? They must come before these idiots go away with my money, my mind screamed.
" A man has to do whatever he can within his power to protect his family.
Despite, how much he hates some of them and wish he could get rid of them. " I said sarcastically making Joseph to frown." Joseph, your father is a good man be proud of him. If we get home and the money isn't complete we will kidnap another child of yours. For your peace of mind, I hope it's complete." He winked at me.
" Brother, make we go! " The taller man on the left says in pidgin English.
PLEASE DON'T GO WITH MY, I begged inwardly.
" Oga(boss), its nice doing business with you, " says the dark short man on the right.
They were leaving and I couldn't do anything about it. The sharp pain I was experiencing seeing those money suckers holding my bag of money and going away with it was unbearable.
My money! I cried inwardly.
My heart is trouble. All that money is going away because of some incompetent fools in uniforms.
