Chapter 1 (Flashback)

                            Crickets chirp from outside the lovely white suburban home in Lawrence, Kansas. Inside, Mary Winchester is carrying her four year old twins into a darkened room.

"Come on, lets say goodnight to your brother," Mary coos.

She turns the light on to the darkened bedroom and reveals a nursery with a baby boy in a crib. The twins, Dean and Paisley Winchester, go running over and step onto a stool. Dean going first. He bends and he kisses Sam on the cheek.

"Night, Sam," Dean says and he lets Paisley have a turn.

Paisley climbs onto the step stool and she kisses her baby brother's cheek. "Night, Sam. I wuv you."

She steps over by Dean while Mary leans over the crib. "Goodnight, love." She brushes Sam's hair back and she kisses his forehead.

"Hey, Dean, Paisley," a man's voice greets.

"Daddy!" The twins squeal at the same time and they run over to John Winchester.

"Hey, guys!" John muses as he scoops them both up, one on east hip. "What do you think? You think Sammy's ready to toss around a football yet?"

"No, daddy," Dean giggles.

John laughs a bit. "No," he agrees.

Mary passes her boys and Paisley. "You got them?" She asks her husband.

"I got them," John assures the mother and she leaves the room; John holds his twins closer as they lay their heads on his shoulder. "Paisley, get the light."

Paisley turns off the nursery light as John tells Sam goodnight. John carries Dean and Paisley to their room and ticks the both of them into their toddler beds.

"Goodnight, you two," John coos as he kisses their foreheads. "I'll see you in the morning for breakfast."

John stands and he stops by the door. He looks back at his twins and he turns the light off before going downstairs to watch some tv while his kids and wife sleep.

                  The lights flicker over Sam's baby monster that's in Mary and John's bedside table. A strange noise comes from the monks your and Mary stirs in her sleep. She blindly reaches over and turns the lamp on.

"John?" She murmurs, Jas sees that she's alone.

Mary yawns before getting up, her nightgown falling to her ankles as she leaves the bedroom. She wanders down the hall and she peeps into Sam's nursery. Azazel is standing there, but Mary thinks it's her husband.

"John? Is he hungry?" Mary asks.  

Azazel turns his head slightly, and shushes her. Mary hims ans Sue heads back down the hall. Mary frowns as the hall lights flicker. She teaches up and taps the light fixture until it steadies and she hears the tv going and there's a flickering light.

Mary walks down to the living room to investigate and finds a war movie on, John has fallen asleep in his arm chair. She then realizes it wasn't John in the nursery.

"Sammy!" Marg exclaims as she runs upstairs. "Sammy!"




John is woken up by Mary's scream upstairs.

"Mary?" He speaks AJ she hurries our of the chair. "Mary!"

John takes off running upstairs and busts into the nursery. He walks over to Sam and he looks down at his youngest.

"Hey, Sammy," John greets. "You okay?"




Dean and Paisley wake up at their dad's shouts and they grab each other's hands as they leave their bedroom. They find their dad hurrying out of the nursery with Sam.

"Daddy?" Paisley coos sweetly.

John shoves Sam into deans asks. "Take your brother outside as fast as you can and don't look back. Now Dean, go! I got your sister."

Dean turns and he hurries out of the house with Sam. John watches as Mary catches on fire. He scoops up Paisley and he bolts out of the house. He scoops up Sam and Dean on the way and he gets them further from the house.

"I gotcha," John claims and fire blows out of the nursery window.












Dean and Paisley are sitting side by side on the hood of the Impala, holding hands. John is sat in front of them, holding Sam. They watch as the firefighters work and they look at the remnants of the fire.
