District 2 was just finishing their interviews. Ombre was shivering with nerves. I, for one, was excited. I was going to show the world that I was confident and ready to win.

The problem was, if I won, I would be going home without Ombre. She and I are always together. I probably would've been executed by now, for doing something stupid if she hadn't been there to talk me out of it. I waited around for a while looking around backstage. I was so bored, I also felt bad for the district twelve tributes that were interviewed last. Ombre on the other hand was watching the interviews telling me I should do it too because It will let us know who to watch for in the games, but I didn't listen.

"Next, from District 3, the lovely Thalia Foughtworth!" Axel Stormbough, the Games announcer exclaimed. 'Finally!' I thought. I proudly marched out onto the stage and took my seat next to him. "So, Thalia, how are you feeling?"

"I'm pretty confident. I'm a little sad though because my twin and I are here together. Only one of us can win right?" I said, "But hey, if I have to be forced into this, I'm going to fight for my life. Also, Benson if you're watching this I wish you were here! There's some pretty cool stuff like this girl in training had like 30 knives!! And they have this dough that's filled with a strawberry jelly called donuts!"

"Could you tell us who this Benson is!?!" Axel interrupted, probably wanting me to stop talking about jelly doughnuts.

"Oh...just a friend from my district... I guess I kinda, sorta, maybe admitted I had a crush on him..." I paused, "now that I think about it, that was really stupid on my part. Never mind, next question please!" I felt myself turning red.

"Okay...what do you think about this year's Quell?" Axel asked.

"It's an interesting twist," I replied, "it's a bit sad, 'cause all the families have to lose more than one kid. But I don't care about the extra tributes, it's just extra fun! Also, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Quell, because it was my sister who was reaped. So I'm hyped up, and I'm gonna destroy the arena!"

"Great..." said Axel, sounding a bit uncertain, "just one more question, then our times up! Do you plan to have any allies in the Game?" he asked.

"Yes! My sister and I will ally, maybe our friend too. She was the other sibling from our district. We have always worked together in things. Kinda like how different body parts help each other keep the body moving," I explained. "Except Ombre usually does all the work. She's the nerd, I'm the warrior!"

"So, she's like your brain?" he asked.

"Yes! And I'm like her fist!" I replied.

"Well, everyone! That's our time!" Axel finished, "I give you, Thalia!" There was a roar of applause. I took a bow and strutted off the stage.

As I made my way off the stage, I gave my sister a friendly slap for good luck. She just looked at me, with that expression that said she thought I was being very inappropriate. She does that a lot, apparently I'm an embarrassment.

Ombre gave me a final glare and walked on the stage as Axel introduced her. She was dead meat, I just knew it. She took her seat next to Axel to begin her interview. She glanced over at me, I gave her a smile and two thumbs up.

"Hello, Ombre!" Axel greeted her. "I hear the Foughtworth twins will be teaming up!"

"Apparently. I don't know how I feel about it, though. Thalia's a bit of a nut job. She'll probably get herself killed trying to play hero within the first two hours," she said.

'Well that's rude!' I thought. I was NOT going to die playing hero, I was going to WIN playing hero! 'She's getting a good noogie tonight.' Meanwhile, Ombre's interview continued.

"How do you feel about being here with your sister?" Axel asked her.

"Well, as I said, she's crazy. And it's sad because we're always together. I don't want to go home without her, and I really don't want to have to watch her die," Ombre said.

"Wow," said Axel, "well I wish you the best. One last thing, how are you feeling? Nervous? Excited? Confident?"

"Meh..." she said.

'Come on, Ombre! How do you plan to get sponsors by being a wimpy suck-up?' I thought with dismay. Like I said, she's dead meat.

Ombre continued, "I think I'll be okay because I've got brains. I fight with my wits, not my fists. Like my sister."

"Oh, one more last thing. I promise this is the last question!" he chuckled, his attempts at jokes are kind of pathetic. "I hear your sister has a little connection with a boy from your district....anyone special in your life?" he asked her.

"Nope." she answered bluntly. Wow, Ombre. Wow. Great answer. You have doomed us all. No one wants to sponsor someone who has no interesting life back home!

"Thank you, Ombre!" Axel exclaimed, "can I get a round of applause?" There was a clap, but nothing compared to my applause. Ombre walked off the stage and found me.

"How was it?" she asked.

I decided to be honest, "Meh. You didn't sound too confident," I said.

"Rude," she replied, marching into the elevator. We were told a story when we were young about a lady from District 7 who took off all her clothes in an elevator. Ombre was disgusted, I thought it was hilarious!

I followed Ombre into the elevator. We rode up to floor three and split off into our rooms. The Games began the next day. I wondered what the arena would look like. Would it be a forest, a jungle, a dessert? What I knew for sure was, it was going to be interesting. I went to bed dreaming about my domination in the arena. I was going home. No. Matter. What.
