Tuesday June 2, 1981 5:00 P.M.
Finally, the day is over with. I finished up the paperwork. I put everything up & got ready to go. I walked to the elevator & pressed down. I walked out of elevator & out of the building.
RING! RING! RING!
I grabbed my phone out of jacket & answered it.
"Hello?"
"You still at work?"
Aaliyah.
"No, I just got off."
"Well, we are going too a party."
"A party? Aaliyah!"
"Girl, hush & be ready when I pick you up."
She hung up. Why Aaliyah? I don't do parties or anything big. Parties are too wild & crazy. Anything bad can happened, I seen those movies. I walked to the bus stop & waited for the bus. Luckily, I don't have to work the night shift. I guess the boss finally feels my pain.
The bus arrived & I got on it. Its usually empty in the evening but today is a little different. The bus reached the next bus stop. I got off & begin to walk home. I actually like walking home. Its peaceful & it eases my mind. I approached my apartment & unlocked my door. I walked inside & threw my jacket on the couch.
I walked to my bedroom & into the bathroom. I turned the shower on & stripped from my clothes. I got in & let the hot water hit my body. Today was awful. I wish I can go to another place. You know, just disappear for a while. Nobody wouldn't know if I was gone. Hell, I'm nonexistent. I want to explore & experience new things.
I haven't did anything fun since high school. I was scared to do anything active after that night. It still haunts me even if I ignore it. I can't get over it even if I force myself. I turned off the shower & got out. I dried myself & walked out of the bathroom. I decided to put on a short black dress with matching heels. I did my makeup & slicked back my hair. I looked in the mirror.
