Annie's POV
Wednesday
June 3, 1981
9:30 P.M."Excuse me miss?"
I opened my eyes. My vision is kinda blurry.
"Are you okay Miss?"
My vision slowly became clear.
"Do you need medical attention?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm Mitch. Are you okay?"
"I think so."
I got up & dusted myself off. What just happened?
"You hit your head pretty hard."
"What?"
"You fell & hit the concrete ground."
"Damn."
"Are you sure you don't need a hospital?"
I touched the back of my head. I don't feel any bruises or blood. But how did I fall? I don't even remember coming out of the house.
"Yeah, yeah."
"Do you want me to walk you home?"
"Yeah, sure."
We begin walking.
"What's your name?"
"Annie."
"Well annie, what are you doing out here late at night?"
"I don't remember."
"You did hit your head pretty hard."
"I honestly don't remember coming out of the house."
"You was running down the sidewalk."
"Did you see how I fell?"
"You tripped over a trash can."
"Wow clumsy me."
"You work at Diamond Club?"
"Yeah, how you know?"
"Your uniform."
I looked down.
"Oh."
I laughed.
"Cute little laugh."
"Thanks."
"You got a man?"
"No. Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No."
"Cool."
"Why you ask?"
"I should be asking you that."
"I was trying to make a conversation."
"An interesting one."
"How's your head?"
"Its okay I'll just put some ice on it."
"Are you sure you don't want to go to a hospital?"
"I'm sure."
We arrived at my apartment.
"This is your stop."
"Thank you for walking me to my apartment."
"I had too I just couldn't let you walk away when fell pretty hard."
"I guess I'll see you later."
"Yeah catch you later."
I walked inside my apartment. I turned the lights on & took off my work clothes. I still can't remember why I put them on. Or even coming out of the house. This is very strange. Maybe I need to go see a doctor.
"I see you've been playing hooky."
