Nicholas P.O.V

Ignoring the nurse's calls, I follow Sofie to Emmalin's room. I can't believe I could have missed the birth of my daughter.

"Aargh!" She yells, making me speed up. "Just wait till he gets here. When I get my hands on him, I'll-" She stopped rambling when she saw me. "Nick?" She whispers, tears running down her cheeks. I take a moment to look at her. her hair is damp, and there is a sheen of sweat on her forehead. Everyone leaves the hospital room, and I rush towards her.

"Oh, sweetheart." I whisper, cupping her face in my hands and kissing her.

"I-I thought y-you were g-gone. I was s-so s-scared." I wipe her cheeks.

"Shh, I'm here now love." I say caressing her hair. She screams in pain as another contraction hits her. I wince slightly as she squeezes my hand.

"Okay, Emmalin honey, it's time to push." The doctor says, and Emma looks nervously at me.

"Hey, calm down. You can do this, okay?" I give her a reassuring smile, and a few agonising screams later, I hear the voice of my baby girl. Emmalin was crying uncontrollably, and I quickly wiped away a tear that escaped my own eye.

"Congratulations, you have a baby girl!" All the nurses started clapping. I guess it's something they do here. The nurses quickly check over our daughter, and then bring her back, wrapped in a baby pink blanket. I gently kiss her forehead, and smile when she opens her eyes.

"She has the Folliero eyes." I say, staring into her teal eyes. Looking closer, I see some Grey near circling her inner iris. She has the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. I love this child with everything I have in me. I gently sit next to Emmalin, and she takes our daughter into her arms.

"I'm so proud of you, angel." I say to her, kissing her temple.

"I love you, Nick."

"I love you more, Emmalin."

She smiles, and kisses our daughter's forehead. I get a text from Luca, and roll my eyes.

Luca: Can we come see her now?

Me: Sure, make sure you use the sanitiser before carrying her.

"They're coming in now." I say to Emmalin, who is still staring at our daughter with nothing but love in her eyes.

The door opens, and everyone rushes in. They freeze when thy see us. Sofie is the first to come out of her daze. She sanitizes her hands, and I notice that everyone has changed. Sofie's hair is damp, so I presume that everyone went to the hotel to shower.

"What's her name?" Dante asks, not taking his eyes off our beautiful girl. Emmalin smiles up at me, and I give her a slight nod.

"Guys, meet your new niece, Arabella Denise Folliero Donatello." Antonio's eyes snap up to us.

"You're keeping Folliero in her name?" I nod.

"She may be a Donatello, but with as many of you as there are, she's just as much as a Folliero." I say. Sofie takes her into her arms and smiles.

"Hey there." She coos. "I'm going to be your favourite. I'll play tea-parties with you, and help you with your make-up. And make you a dress for your first date."

"She won't be dating." Everyone except Emmalin says.

"I'm holding her next." Enzo says.

"No, I am!" Luca argues.

"Both of you aren't, I am." Geo cuts in.

"I'm older than all of you." Seriously, how old are these guys.

Ignoring their bickering, Antonio walks across the room and take Arabella from Sofie, who comes over to give Emma a hug.

"I'm so proud of you!" She says. Everyone takes a turn with Arabella, whispering about they're going to be the coolest. Eventually, I was itching to hold my daughter, and took her from them.

"Nick..." Emma says once the boys and Sofie have left to get some sleep.

"Hmm?" I hold out my finger for Arabella to grip.

"I-I don't feel so good..." She croaks out. My eyes snap up to see her face pale, and her eyes growing heavy. I lay my daughter in the cot, and rush over to my wife. I click the help button, and yell for someone to help.

"Hey, angel, stay with me, okay? Don't close your eyes. Angel? Angel!"

Emmalin P.O.V

I wake up in a room filled with books. Lots and lot of books.

"Hello?" I ask, looking around the room.

"My, how much you've grown." I hear a voice say. Turning around, I gasp when I see my father. Without thinking, I run and give him a hug.

"What are you doing here? Where are we?" I place my hand on my stomach, and panic when I don't feel a bump. Suddenly, everything rushes back to me. "I need to go back!" I shout, looking for a way out of the room. "Nick must be so worried about me!" I see dad looking at me, like he's trying to soak every detail.

"Emmalin, you can either go back, or you could always stay here with me." I thought about it, but shook my head.

"I'm sorry, dad. I need to go back. I have a husband and a daughter to take care of. I couldn't leave Sofie, and don't get me started on my brothers. It would be so selfish to leave them." He was looking at me with pride in his eyes.

"I'm proud of you, figlia." (daughter) He says, kissing my head.

"Damn, I have one awesome daughter-in-law." I snap my head up, and see Nick's dad.

"Y-you..." He chuckles lightly.

"Do me a favour, and tell my son that I'm proud of him. Also, tell him I move my night to E4. It's a checkmate." I don't get to say anything, because I can hear beeping in the distance.

"We're gaining." A nurse shouts. "Clear." She says. I feel a shock running through my chest and throughout my body. I sit upright and glare at the nurses.

"Geez, what is wrong with you, that hurt!" I exclaim.

"Emma?!" Nick runs to me, and pulls me into a huge hug. I feel wetness there, and realise he's crying.

"Hey, I'm right here." I say softly.

"Don't ever do that to me again." He scolds, gripping my shoulders. I nod my head, and then realise something.

"Nick?"

"Yeah?" I bite my lip, trying to remember what the message was.

"This is going to sound odd, but your..." I pause. "Nick, your dad said to tell you he moves his knight to E4 and it's a checkmate." I see his face change to one of shock.

"You saw my dad?" I nod slightly.

"He also says he's proud of you." He smiles at me.

"I was so sure I would win that game." Nick mutters, earning a chuckle from me. I hear Arabella cry, and Nick picks her up, making her immediately stop crying.

"Oh thank goodness she stopped." Nick says, his voice filled with relief. "I was going to hurt someone for making her cry, regardless of weather or not it was their fault." I throw back my head and laugh.

"She's going to have you wrapped around her finger isn't she?" I say. he looks down at the baby, sound asleep, and smiles softly.

"Yeah, she is..."
