Your POV

"Where am I supposed to get magic from? It's not something I can buy, or make, or just have!"

Uma shushed me. "Sorry." I toned down to a whisper.

"It's just - no one in my family has ever had their own magic, in any form. Not like Mal, who can become a dragon, or you Uma, with your necklace and all. And I obviously won't steal a sceptre, not based on the assumption that Lydia has that kind of powerful magic. Oh, how I wish I had a magic lamp with a genie..."

"I'm sure there are other ways (y/n) - I've just scratched the surface. There's so much more to be read." He handed me one from the pile. "You can start with this one." I sneezed.

"Sorry, I'm sensitive to dust. Wow, it's like no one touched this for decades!"

"I bet no one has - they're not the most thrilling reads."

He handed another one to Uma, his eyes especially soft when they met her. She responded with a smile. I grinned - I'm so happy they're getting along well. We'd be the ultimate group, Uma and Johnny, Harry and I. Provided Harry goes back to how he was.

Hours passed with barely a word, all of us flipping through rigid pages hoping for any relevant information. Occasionally we'd come across a line that would apply to the situation, but it wasn't anything we didn't already know. 

"Wait, I think I found something!"

"What? What is it?" I probably got more excited than I should have, granted the past 20 times this happened it was useless.

"Read this." Uma slid the book over so Johnny and I could have a look at the section.
