Childhood memories
All blown away now
Felt like centuries
But it wasn't, somehowWhere did time go?
She's almost 21 now
Childhood memories
Just memories, somehowIt used to be Barbie Dolls
Whispers through bathroom stalls
Slumber parties, rom-coms,
Ballerina shoes onNow she's had a broken heart,
Frat parties, boys, don't start
I'm only a year younger
But I feel so much youngerMaddie, Maddie
Maddie, MaddieShe tells me all these stories,
Lots of college unclarity
About a boy who swore he,
Loved her but was sorryBut at least now she knows
What she wants in a man
Pain she never shows
But do any of us have a plan?It used to be Barbie Dolls
Whispers through bathroom stalls
Slumber parties, rom-coms,
Ballerina shoes onNow she's had a broken heart,
Frat parties, boys, don't start
I'm only a year younger
But I feel so much younger
I feel so much younger.Who we were, who we are
I don't know anymore
We opened a brand new doorChildhood memories,
Felt like centuries,
But she's almost 21 now...
All grown up somehowWill the nostalgia pass,
Or will it keep holding me back?
Childhood memories,
Just memories now.Maddie, Maddie.
Just memories now.
We'll make new memories now.
